Skirmish prompt: Heavy Rain

Lyrics:

heavy rain

V1
I hear the thunder crack
as the lightening strikes
over my head
on this sleepless night
the wind howls with
loneliness
I don’t know why
it ended like this

C
bring on the heavy rain
pour down on my heart again
drench me with black cloud tears
come wash away this pain

V2
I see old pine trees bend
hear branches break
near my head
that keep me awake
the tent drips with
unhappiness
I don’t how to
to erase heartache

C
bring on the heavy rain
pour down on my heart again
drench me with black cloud tears
take away this pain

B
tried to get away
I went off the grid
but I didn’t know
this is where
broken hearts hid..

C
bring on the heavy rain
pour down on my heart again
drench me with black cloud tears
come wash away this pain

OUTRO
oh bring on the heavy rain
come wash away this pain

Ooh, I really like "black cloud tears" - a fantastic use of words. As usual you wrote this well with lots of interesting imagery. Nice work!

That's a damn fine chorus combining the usual rain type of imagery with the unusual. "Pour down on my heart again" "Black cloud tears" Good lines.

I get that feel on loneliness. Sometimes it feels crushing, yea?

With loss we get that sense that there must be something somewhere, so we keep on looking. But maybe the rain is there to wash you clean, hm?

I don't know, this awakened a lot of thoughts in me.

Nice one!

I like the literal and metaphorical mix you have in the lyrics. I'd like to do some production for this if that's OK? Please let me know.
