Liner Notes:

Prompt: Triumph

THANKS to Gwyn Jones for the great music and adding verses 4 and 5 to this zipper song!!!!

I did this with a zipper song style for a protest march with a simple refrain and where people add a simple 4 line verse between the refrains as they march - feel free to add your verse in the comment and I will add it to the song!

And then we can sing it together with some drums as in a march!

Lyrics:

triumph

R
triumph
we will triumph
we will triumph
over this

R
triumph
we will triumph
we will triumph
over this

1
we will make schools safe
without police
we will ensure that our
school funds increase

R
triumph
we will triumph
we will triumph
over this

2
we will make Black lives
equal and free
we will use our wealth to
end poverty

R
triumph
we will triumph
we will triumph
over this

3
we will make the border
open its doors
we will welcome families
from shore to shore

R
triumph
we will triumph
we will triumph
over this

4
we will make air
and water clean
we will make the land
fertile and green

triumph
we will triumph
we will triumph
over this

5
we will make sure
this society
raises all in their
entirety

triumph
we will triumph
we will triumph
over this

The span of those verses!!! Wow I would absolutely learn this by heart for a protest march, what a great set of lyrics. They've got the beat that a lot of contemporary protest songs lack, so I think these would do very very well on the streets.

Fantastic protest song - can definitely hear this sung at a march or in folk singarounds with people adding verses on the spot. Great work. And I like that this is the optimistic side of the coin in this group of songs so far!

Nicely done. Triumphed over this skirmish. Simple phrases but so important and worth a protest. Nice work.

I'm a bit late with the feedback, but wow. The collaboration with Gwyn really made those lines come to life. Pleasant accent that makes this nice to listen to and the melody in the chorus just makes you wanna sing along. Do I hear a key change in there? It works well.

This is a fantastic collaboration, I love Liz's ability to write such positive socially aware songs and this arrangement suites the lyrics perfectly. Really nice job to both of you!
