This heartfelt lyric of Michael Lockley resonated with me. The original is at #41847 This is another that would repay more work later. I think

Time stands still
When time is done
Every memory framed
Perfect picture everyone

Never ending, never fading
Each my own just mine
Relived in slow motion
One picture at a time

Slow motion
Dreams within my head
Can’t hug your body
You can hug my mind instead
Can’t hug your body
You can hug my mind instead

[instr]

Years seem pointless
They only measure time
And time has taken
Both of who were mine

But memories remain timeless
As constellations grow
Wrapped in pretty blankets
Starry memories rolled out slow

Slow motion
Dreams within my head
Slow motion
Dreams within my head
Can’t hug your body
You can hug my mind, my mind
Instead

[instr]

Slow motion
Dreams within my head
Can’t hug your body
You can hug my mind, hug my mind
Instead

you have written the perfect music for thus excellent lyric and brought it to life with your voice and piano. why doesnt music this good sell? mainly because there us no music industry to speak of, also people dont listen to music for the songs any more but for a sound pad to shield them from reality. i was imagining this song on of judy collins' semi classical folk albums from the late sixties, alongside songs by writers such as leonard cohen, randy newman joni mutchell, and jacques brel. it would have sold in that time and context.

This is so deeply moving. Tender, tranquil, and somber, I hung on every word and note in a trance. Brilliant collaboration with these dazzling metaphors of living with loss. What a work of beauty.

the music is haunting and a fitting backdrop for the lyrics great collaboration

That honey-brown piano had me hooked from the first bar. The keys on their own would stand up as a cracking track!

"Lament" is the perfect tag to throw at this one, even if it's something we seem to be doing far too frequently this year. It also feels like an elegy for things past. Those strong lyrics are kind of an antithesis to my track "Next Step" (http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/song/41969). We could all do with more mind hugs at the moment.

some really vivid and evocative phrases lyrically and the piano part is perfect for them. beautiful collab

Your piano playing is very alive and your vocal delivery is honest and vulnerable, here. It's heartbreaking and just right. Just beautiful.

What a transfixing combination of lyric and composition...
