Liner Notes:

I miss my band. We're a bunch of geezers that used to play outlaw country music every Thursday at Mission Pizza in Fremont, CA. I was asked play bass and I told them I didn't know how. They said it didn't matter, so I joined on my uBass. Charlie, the lead guitar player is really 85 years old and he rocks! I've been checking up of the boys and they're okay, but I miss 'em. (That's Jane, my wife on background vocals - what a trooper!)

Lyrics:

I haven't stopped playin'
It's just not been with you
My ubass and my guitar
Don't have much to do
I still jam along to
All of my music mates
But now it's on-line 'cuz
They've cancelled all our dates

My blues have all been moody
My dire's have been straight
We're all stuck at home now
And I'm feelin' that weight
Not dead I'm so grateful
My heat it's been canned
And if we're all not careful
I'll never see my band

Larry holds lead vocals down
While Phil's on mandolin
I'm usually on the bass
Steve or Dean playin' skins
On tele we have Charlie
Still pickin' at eighty five
We're back at Mission Pizza
If we all can survive

My blues have been moody
My dire's have been straight
We're all stuck at home now
And I'm feelin' that weight
Not dead I'm so grateful
My heat it's been canned
And if we're all not careful
I'll never see my band

very touching! not too many love songs about bands not together hahah! guess it is a little unprecedented so many just put on hold, not split for all the usual reasons!

great chorus! my blues have been moody and straights dire as well Smile

great backup by the wifey too!

This hits home. I really miss gigging. My band had a real busy diary for 2020.
Real nice sound and lovely mandolin! Great play on band names too. Took me a minute to catch onto that, but very clever.

Oh, boy! This is lovely. As soon as this pandemic is over I'll go listen to you and your band in Fremont. Let me know when you're playing again and I'll be there!

Yeah - see what you did with that chorus! I totally understand about missing your band. I must say, this is a pleasant lament. It is unfortunately that my musician friends and family are impacted in such the way with all things that are going on in the world right now. Still - this is well done and well received by me, amigo! Aces!

OUCH! I mean I'm cursed when it comes to bands anyway. Every time I find one something happens to screw it up. Stopped trying for years and then tried again in Jan. I was really excited. We had a rehearsal and we sounded good and we were recording some originals and... OMG! Is the pandemic my fault for almost having a band? Anyway, I really enjoy this. "Blues have been moody, dire's straight" what fun! You have some excellent lyrics and the music is solid and lovely to listen to.
