Liner Notes:

A fast one tonight. I've been writing break up songs (for no known reason under the sun since I've been happily married for 20+ years) so this one is a slightly different angle.

Lyrics:

I can't believe you're coming home with me
We both had too much to drink
I think you will agree

You take my hand and squeeze it tight
You tell me to take it slow
We can dance all night

But, I don't want to be the kind of guy
Who loves you and leaves you after one night
Whispers sweet nothings in your ear
Right before I disappear

No, I don't want to be the kind of guy
That looks you straight in the eye
And tells you what you want to hear
Right before I disappear again

As I'm lying next to you
I wonder is this just one night
Or the start of something new?

I love to listen to you breathe
In the morning when you wake
Will you get dressed and leave?

But, I don't want to be the kind of guy
Who loves you and leaves you after one night
Whispers sweet nothings in your ear
Right before I disappear

No, I don't want to be the kind of guy
That looks you straight in the eye
And tells you what you want to hear
Right before I disappear again

I like this kind of story, the kind I've been writing now and then. This isn't a breakup song, though, it's a maybe a beginning song. I hear it as optimistic and well-meaning.

Sweet sentiment, I'm going to agree with Mr. Standup it, definitely reads as thoughtful and kind more than a break-up song.

Nice lyrics, I like the angle of the tune. You are good at creating these scenes and describing them in a way that sounds genuine. I like how this reads as a guy who wants to make sure it's not a one night stand, there is something about these lyrics that paints that more vividly than you normally hear in such songs. Good job!

Yeah nice one. You will smile when you hear what i say on episode 4. This is a bit different not really a break up song.

I really like the guitar work on this one, TC. You've also got a great story. It leaves us wondering in the end, do they leave each other?

I adore that guitar riff you are playing, if really catchy and drew me in right away. Nice, story telling here, I enjoy songs that have a great story but come from pure imagination it make them feel a little more magical. Very nice job on both the song writing and the recording.
