My Song's Gonna Play

My Song's Gonna Play

Kristi's picture

Liner Notes:

I haven't written anything since February-haven't even jotted down lines like I might typically, and there's always that thought...do I have anything else to say? It's all been said....see ya! Wink The first line did come to me in the shower so I said, why not go with it...see where it takes me...

NOTE: Roel van Veldt is working on music for this. Stay tuned!!

Lyrics:

My Song’s Gonna Play

There were mountains
Before I was here
Relentless climbers
Who knew no fear

Now it’s my turn
To face the challenge
Step out on the edge
And try to balance

[lift]
Oh the secrets of life are silent
And there’s mystery on the horizon

[ch]
But that doesn’t stop me
No I will always admire
The brilliance that sings
When people inspire
We all add to the story
So much to share and relay
I won’t be distracted
My song’s gonna play

For as long as I’m here
With boots on the ground
My life will have meaning
My soul, a sound

There will be mountains
After I’m gone
Maybe I’ll be someone
Who dared to be strong

Some choices in life are risky
And every day seems too busy

[ch]
But that doesn’t stop me
No I will always admire
The brilliance that sings
When people inspire
We all add to the story
So much to share and relay
I won’t be distracted
My song’s gonna play

[br]
Centuries pass
People fight a good fight
Can we learn from each other
Can we sleep at night

[lift]
Oh the secret to life is so simple
But some struggle just to be civil

Repeat ch

I love the positive energy of this song. You managed to make it feel very personal but also encompass a larger world. Very nice job!

I love that "Maybe I’ll be someone who dared to be strong" line. So powerfule!

And the hook at the end of the chorus... I can so hear that.

Great job!
