The blame isn't always on just one side...

Lyrics:

There’ll be tears before bedtime
She predicted and she was right
There were tears before bedtime
And well into the night
As she explained and cut to the chase
The blood drained from my face
As every sordid detail made me wince
There were tears before bedtime
And I’ve been crying ever since

As I took in all she said
I saw pictures in my head
The sort of things I never can unsee
The more I understood
The more I thought how could
She be so cruel and unfaithful to me

There’ll be tears before bedtime
She predicted and she was right
There were tears before bedtime
And well into the night

She wouldn’t give his name
And accepted all blame
But had I brought it on myself somehow
Maybe I’d neglected her
In some way disrespected her
And that’s why I am paying the price now

There’ll be tears before bedtime
She predicted and she was right
There were tears before bedtime
And well into the night
Looking back now I can see
I showed a lack of empathy
And all of the examples make me wince
There were tears before bedtime
And I’ve been crying ever since

I love George Jones...so to be mentioned in the same breath as him is humbling...many thanks Bill!

You certainly have control of that Country Classic feeling. Drawing an emotional picture is the name of the game, especially in Country Music

This is very heartfelt and the vulnerability come thru especially at the end. I like how it delves into both sides and he evolves. Good vocal, especially like how "well into the night" is sung. That speaks to the heart. Well done!

Cheers Cindy! Surely some mistake with the name though...and don't call me Shirley! Tee hee!

Yeah, I gotta agree with Bill White here...this is some classic country, George Jones quality, mighty fine singing, playing and writing! Really nice work Gwyn!
