Liner Notes:

I am liking this song more than I thought I would, I worried it was way too simple, but I will toss it out there, not perfect, but there is something there...I think...HEY, I broke out the mandolin....haven't played it in a while and I know it is overly simple also...I should have done some mad mandolin playing, but I don't know how to do that...LOL!

Connection

Did you ever want to hear
what I have to say
My words flutter around you
then fly away
I wish you could take them in
I wish they were worth a listen
you and I are missing a connection

Did you ever want to see
the world around me
moon, stars, flowers, trees
colors in my atmosphere
I wish you saw natures perfection
witness my life from every direction
you and I are missing a connection

Chorus
I need to go on a journey to find
the eyes of the one that is searching for mine
the heart that beats to the rhythm of my soul
my connection, my story that' never been told

Did you ever want to feel
what I'm like to touch
holding hands feels so safe
is that asking too much
would you reach out and touch my skin
do you ever want this kind of affection
you and I are missing a connection

Chorus
I need to go on a journey to find
the eyes of the one that is searching for mine
the heart that beats to the rhythm of my soul
my connection, my story that' never been told

There is something to be said about a song with achingly sad lyrics and yet the music brings out the hope and beauty of what could be. I tend to think that's where the healing portion is. Beautifully rendered, Tammy.

we try over complicate sometimes - this is SIMPLY beautiful; top song so well performed

This is absolutely gorgeous - I don’t think it is too simple - the ‘simple’ mandolin allows the wonderful lyrics and your stunning vocals with their harmonies to really shine. The lyrics tug at my heart! Really wonderful Tammy!

Beyond incredible! Not simple at all-it says so much. I got goosebumps listening!

The guitar and mandolin sound like the perfect pair; the lyrics are emotive and sorrowful, but I love the way you sing them, especially the line about the lack of connection.
