Prompt: end or ending

Was late to start but wrote in less than 20 min

Lyrics:

V1
my love
come rest here
at my side
I’ll hold you
one last time as
I promise
you this ...

my love
will endure
even though
we are through

and I will respect you...
in all that you do..

C
endings are always
hard to face
when you want to linger long
in a space
that you’ve know
a space that has shown you love
a space where you’ve grown
but not grown yet enough..
endings are always
hard to face

V2
my love
come tell me
all you know
I’ll listen
once more before
we let go
of this ...

this love
will evolve
even though
I’m not around

and I will treasure you...
in all that you do..

C
endings are always
hard to face
when you want to linger long
in a space
that you’ve know
a space that has shown you love
a space where you’ve grown
but not grown yet enough..
endings are always
hard to face

B
the time has come now
to say goodbye
so let’s dry the tears
deep in our eyes
knowing love will live
long in hearts that once were true
like my heart always was for you...

C
endings are always
hard to face
when you want to linger long
in a space
that you’ve know
a space that has shown you love
a space where you’ve grown
but not grown yet enough..
endings are always
hard to face

Such a love-filled lyric! So much wisdom as well. A great skirmish!

Yes, it's true. Well put in this lyric.
I've enjoyed skirmishing with you. See ya next time.

I like the way this is written. It's like a break-up song but also could be a teen or adult child leaving home. Makes one think how tender mother's love can be and also how you can grow in so many ways in a relationship. Good write, especially for a skirmish.

Very beautiful lyrics, they sing from the page/screen. I can hear them. Hope to hear them in real life too.

I can feel the waltzing flow...the hook actually disturbing the flow...just my thoughts...like what? Endings are always hard to face. It kind of was waltzing along and then we need to talk about something. Let me keep going...yeah the bridge is where you say goodbye. I like the grown, shown rhymes. I think it is exactly what was intended as a goodbye as in death. Very nice Liz.

How romantic. For me it's not a break up song, more an ending song, as in a death Sad I too could hear a waltz I think Smile
