It's a Small World

Liner Notes:

I've actually broken my own rule this time; I've decided to write some songs longer than one minute!
I was inspired to write this after running into an old friend of mine at Victoria University (she was in my VET music course in high school, and currently she's studying the Bachelor of Music while I'm doing the Advanced Diploma). She is a vocalist who's into the Beatles, and I share those things in common with her.

The demo was recorded on my Android phone.

Lyrics:

You were standing there in the crowd
I thought I knew you from before
As you turned to leave, you noticed me
And smiled ever so gracefully

You came along and waltzed back into my life
We'd been distant for so many years
Who would have guessed we'd be in this place?
It's a small world, fancy seeing you here

And do you know the friends that I know?
Or the way in which the wind blows
I'm glad to know we've all come together
For all we know, life is getting better

You came along and waltzed back into my life
We'd been distant for so many years
Who would have guessed we'd be in this place?
It's a small world, fancy seeing you here

Please keep your comments respectful, honest, and constructive. Please focus on the song and not the demo.

The piano intro does sound like a Beatles. Nice chords there. I don't think I have heard that exact chord sequence ever before. There's a wonderful tentative hope in the lyrics. Could be a start of something special...or not. Again, I think it's great that you're singing without the auto-tune. You've either learned to sing or gotten some confidence to sing. Which are pretty much the same thing. Good song and well played. Smile

Yep! I was thinking Beatles before I read the liner notes. Catchy tune!

Edward, depending on tempo, this will make a good waltz-dance song. I like it.
