Here is my attempt at singing Los Cinco Valles. Anyone is welcome to edit, arrange, or do whatever to make it better. Thanks. https://soundcloud.com/kingwoodkowboy/los-cinco-valles-mixcraft2

Chip - I had my eye on this lyric a while ago. Larry went ahead and put music to it himself, and then he graciously agreed to let me have a go, too. His original is in the link above.
These words made me think of the old Marty Robbins album of gunfighter ballads that I used to listen to. My dad had a stack of country vinyl in the basement - Hank Sr, Charlie Rich, Waylon, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band ... I can still picture the album covers, and the Marty Robbins cover is a vivid memory. The songs were pretty awesome, too. I love that Larry, the Kingwood Kowboy, writes words that let me re-visit my country roots.

Lyrics:

Los Cinco Valles

Cinco valles, cinco pueblos, mi amor
Five valleys, five towns ahead
Cinco valles, cinco pueblos, my treasure
Five valleys to journey and tread

One valley will sing of your beauty
One town will know of your charms
Four more and love pays its duty
When I hold you again in my arms

(Instrumental)

One valley will sing of your beauty
One town will know of your charms
Four more and love pays its duty
When I hold you again in my arms

Cinco valles, cinco pueblos, mi bonita
Five valleys, five towns para llevar
Cinco valles, cinco pueblos, to ride dear
As I strive to be where you are

Cinco valles, cinco pueblos, my love

I had considered putting this one to music - glad you did! (I still might, if ok with you.)
Nice old-time country jukebox bounce to this one. An ideal music backdrop for the longing in the song, and your voice works well in the role of the forlorn, road-weary narrator.

Fun song, well done (both versions so far! Smile ); and, well played live as always, Chip, great string work as you do.

As said, it's a classic, good to have in the song-book, just in case!

Great job on this demo Chip. It does remind me of Marty Robbins. Fine sounding string work.
