Liner Notes:

My second last song this 50/90, have one other collab with metalfoot I want to finish. So much work, gigs and rehearsals lined up in the coming weeks.

Alex posted the lyrics back in July, I really liked them and asked if I could use them, then made the song in 15 mins or so, then struggled with recording it as I envisioned in my head. Pretty to close to what I imagined, but it still needs some work. But this is more than good enough for now.

I sang and played
Danelectro 12 String Electric, Squier Pbass, Addictive Drummer 2, Roland CR78 drum machine, percussion, Elka Stringsynth, Logan Stringsynth, Korg Minilouge, a couple of Puremagnetik synth samples, VCV Racks for the white noise pulse

metalfoot:
This is a really lovely musical take on these words (and totally different, musically, than what I had in my head when I wrote the lyrics out!). As always, a pleasure to collab with you!

Lyrics:

lyric (c) 2019 Alex Klages
---

alone in the moonlight
alone under the stars
alone, so far away
from wherever you are

alone in the moonlight
alone for the night
alone, so far away
and it's just not right

I miss you, my sweetheart
I miss you so much
I miss the sound of your voice
I miss your tender touch

alone in the moonlight
alone in the night breeze
alone, so far away
only me and the trees

I miss you, my sweetheart
I miss you so much
I miss the sound of your voice
I miss your tender touch

alone in the moonlight
alone forever to be
alone in the darkness
you no longer love me

Oh, this is great! Mysterious, eerie, but so, so cool! Excellent!

I wish I had some headphones right now. I don't think my laptops speakers are doing justice to this airy/dreamy song. I love the whole vibe--and that shift from 6/8 to 4/4 is pretty cool. It's all catchy and compelling, full of almost-happy-sounding sadness and longing. That last line really sticks the dagger in. Until then you could imagine that the lovers might be temporarily parted

Yes this is way cool! Has that edgy 60s psychedelic feel, but synths etc place it elsewhere. A good time and genre mix. A very good listen. Good lyric as where so many on this prompt

The change is impactful, and simply works.
Kudos on the use of that drum machine, I looked it up and it looks quite cool.
The atmosphere here is excellent. Perfect vocal effects on a great delivery; both the vocals and music direction match the lyrics.
On the lyrics, they are the kind that appeal to me. Lots of repeating words/lines drives home things that want to be said so badly. Yearning is thick with these lyrics and it came through musically and vocally.
Great team-up.
