Liner Notes:

As I mentioned in “Stay or Go,” we’re mulling over our choices/possibilities after moving back to Vegas from Florida. This was written during one of those nights of contemplating a big decision, feeling temporary in a place that used to be home.

Lyrics:

September
(Kathy Holmes, 2019)

Counting down the timeline
Clutching it in my hand
Where is my tomorrow
In the Promised Land

September is the signal
The guide has appeared
Too early to throw your hands up
Don’t give in to fear

When you see Jesus on the corner,
Raphael in a field of green,
Joseph in the corridor,
Something is happening it seems

September is the signal
The guide has appeared
Too early to throw your hands up
Don’t give in to fear

Searching for home by night and by day
Driving by where it used to be
Keep moving forward is what they say
But your heart is longing for the memories

September is the signal
The guide has appeared
Too early to throw your hands up
Don’t give in to fear

Please keep your comments respectful, honest, and constructive. Please focus on the song and not the demo.

excellent lytic that alludes to many aspects of modern anxiety, but emphasizes the neccessity of conquering fear if you are going to continue living.

It’s a well structured lyric but don’t see the connection to the liner note.

I too am in what may be a stay/go consideration so wondered about the song in that regard.

If I had to pick, it’d be hard to say pending the next hurricane, I guess Smile

I liked Vegas, no expert but like “off the strip” well enough and the surrounding areas.

Does not look like a place to get work is what troubles me. The local Universities confused me for that when called me — and, or, I am not a good card dealer Wink either.

I like personally connected songs though!

Very important words. So many people feel the difficulty of approaching September.
