Liner Notes:

Another fine lyrics by John @oneslowtyper inspired me. Thanks, John, for these lyrics and for your support and understanding. You're a pal!

This took less than three hours. The vocal track is the first take. I thought that's good enough. And it is.

Anyway, I'm short on time and low on energy. It means simple demos ( which I can live with ) but also less commenting ( which makes me a bit sad ). But music still sounds happy. Smile

Lyrics:

She’s only thinkin’ ‘bout the good times…
That’s where she wants her mind to stay
The power of those precious mem’ries
Helps her survive the darker days

V2
When life is getting dark or dreary…
She will escape into her mind
And every thought that made her smile
Will bring her back to better times…

Ch
You need to let the good times rollllllll…
And keep them close, for darker days…
A simple smile warms the soullll…
And gently sends us on our way…

V4
Her life is like so many others
She lives a life of good and bad
But she prefers to dwell on happy
Instead of always feeling sad

V5
If she can smile all the while…
That life is giving her a test
She will survive until the tides turn
Till once again she’s feeling blessed…

Ch
You need to let the good times rollllllll…
And keep them close, for darker days…
A simple smile warms the soullll…
And gently sends us on our way…

Solo

Ch
You need to let the good times rollllllll…
And keep them close, for darker days…
A simple smile warms the soullll…
And gently sends us on our way…

Please keep your comments respectful, honest, and constructive. Please focus on the song and not the demo.

Fantastic collaboration!!!! Love the guitar intro and cool little instrumental bridge.. The melody is great and delivers the sentiment so well - and I love the message in the chorus! Great contrast between the specifics in the verses and the universal chorus. Love this!

i really love your complete productions, but your melodies and voice are so good that i dont miss them when they are absent. i would rather have more songs with less production than fewer songs more elaborately produced. this is a wonderful slice of pop music heaven.

I gotta say, your acoustic demos are really appealing as they showcase your vocals and songwriting abilities.
Lovely guitar and vocal melodies.
Really positive lyrics - nice!
This track made me smile.
Excellent collab, folks!

Looking at the lyrics...Nice opening and I've seen several women here in this group like this you describe in the first section. v2 again reminds me of, ok, I'm not going to say it and we'll keep these fabulous women a mystery. Great chorus and very inspiring. v4, again, I've seen this too but never get to speak about it. I have to tell you I'm quite tired of the blues. Moving on to v5. Again, great message and very true...I've seen it, Klaus. I'm ready for the audio now...hold. Guitars...sounds fun...major chords...vocals now...sounds good....good melody....can clearly understand the lyrics...you need to let the good times roll and keep them close for darker days....simple smile...sends us on our way...nice guitar playing....whoa whoa whoa....dwells on happy instead of always feeling sad...if she can smile all the while...life has given her a chance....until once again she's feeling blessed....let the good times roll...ooooh....guitar solo now....sounds great....you need to let the good times roll and keep them close for darker days....good ending. Nice job Klaus and John, I like it very much.

That guitar with it's clear ring to it says it all, it accompanies the lyrics perfect. Gospel would actually be a fitting label for this, and that's a compliment. A choir and handclaps ..I can imagine them. Happy solo too. Very nice job, guys.

Great message that is so simple, really, in order to have a good life! Nicely written. The vocal carries it away in a dreamy way. And the music has a nice gentleness about it. I liked that solo too...very upbeat and happy sounding.
