Liner Notes:

Skirmish prompt: Furthermore

Written for my newly adult son who is questioning where he fits in and trying to find his path in this world ...he is sometime much too self critical and sensitive about not being like all of the other guys that went away off to college or the military.

He is amazing guy - hard working, compassionate, empathetic, and loving... he means the world to me... this is for him...

I would love to have a collaborator bring it to life with music and vocals

Lyrics:

Furthermore, Son

V1
it doesn’t matter
if there are games you don’t play
it doesn’t matter
if you feel anger on some days
it doesn’t matter
if one day you move away
furthermore, my son....
it doesn’t matter
what others might say

what matters is your integrity
to be the kind of man
that you want to be

L
because you are....

C
man enough
you are man enough
just as you are to me

you are man enough
as far as I can see

furthermore, my son,
know that you will always be
a great man...a great man to me

V2
it doesn’t matter
if you love who you do
it doesn’t matter
if you do well in school
it doesn’t matter
if you ares sometimes blue
furthermore, my son...
it doesn’t matter
who thinks you’re cool

what matters is that you’re true
to be the kind of man that
is really you

L
because you are..

C
man enough
you are man enough
just as you are to me

you are man enough
as far as I can see

furthermore, my son,
know that you will always be
a great man...a great man to me

B
some men seek power
some need to be right
some men must be strong
some have to win fights
but you are a man
with a keen mind and insight
you are gentle
you are kind
and I believe that is where
all power and strength lie

L
because you are..

C
man enough
you are man enough
just as you are to me

you are man enough
as far as I can see

furthermore, my son,
know that you will always be
a great man...a great man to me

An empowering message set to lyric. Something we all should read/see/hear. I like the rhythm in the lyric, especially the chorus lyric. When I read it there is a natural flow to it.

That's just beautiful. And furthermore...he's lucky to have you for his Mother. Great job.

OH MY GOD! That's so beautiful. I have a 20 year old son who isn't your "typical" guy either. But he's the fucking best! As is yours. More crying! Come on, Ms. Petty! Gimme a break already!
