Good Times

I'm alive with the good times of life
They always arrive when you least expect
Spontaneity is what I like
When we're swept up in the natural effect

I get up for the good times that come
Make the most of those highs feeding the soul
It's a way of life bathed in the sun
When we party without any control

Three cheers for the good times
Raise a glass to them all
Feels clear we love good times
Pray they last for us all

I know we crave the good times that last
They build up feelings so we can survive
Dancing beyond what was in the past
When we shake off concerns to feel alive

Three cheers for the good times
Raise a glass to them all
Feels clear we love good times
Pray they last for us all

Adrenalin is flowing fast like a river
Songs we sing like no one can deliver
Spirits are up and warming the body
Blood is rushing through every part of me

Three cheers for the good times
Raise a glass to them all
Feels clear we love good times
Pray they last for us all

Only sad note is when the good times end
We go back to grind and a life of pretend

I really love the uplifting sentiment that is so well delivered in your chorus! Great feeling conveyed in the words! The verses add a nicely nuanced dose of reality and suggest to us the potential transient and fragile nature of good times - and then those last few lines throw the dose of reality in our face and cause me to pause and reflect on how to hold on to the good times. Nice job!

Three cheers to this! It's much simpler to let out the things that burden us, but this is pure joy talking about joy! Very good.

I really love that first verse(and all the rest) and how you describe spontaneity as being "swept up in the natural effect". I live in a tourist'y area along the lake, and I think those last two lines describe pretty much everyone here, and the thoughts they feel when summer ends and it's time to "change gears".
