Liner Notes:

I am very very late in completing my own skirmish theme from last Saturday, but at least I have now done it !
The theme was water, and I didn't find it easy to work out what to write about (apart from water obviously Wink ).

6th Sept: @coolparadiso is going to musicate this one Smile

I thought these were such great lyrics but wasnt sure i would have time but Amanda said she would keep it for me! Thx i got to it much earlier than i thought. I felt it needed a gentle stripped down approach !

Lyrics:

intro
I want to see things in soft gentle colour

ch
It flows and goes away
Out of sight, out of mind
Bringing alive today
And then just wash away
Life bearing brown decay
I wish I lived in a Claude Monet

v
Lily pads and sparkling glass, faded blues and pinks
Floating greens for sitting on, contemplating this
The missing link

pre ch
I want to see things in soft gentle colour

ch
It flows and goes away
Out of sight, out of mind
Bringing alive today
And then just wash away
Life bearing brown decay
I wish I lived in a Claude Monet

v
Washing silt and thoughts away, purging clean my soul
Leaving all the residue, don't wanna lose control
In this hell hole

pre ch
I want to see things in soft gentle colour

ch
It flows and goes away
Out of sight, out of mind
Bringing alive today
And then just wash away
Life bearing brown decay
I wish I lived in a Claude Monet

Wow! This was worth the wait. I love Monet and have written songs with him mentioned( my in my artist's dream this year) but gosh I am dumbfounded with this song! Brilliant!

Lovely, now I'm imagining actually living inside the paintings with their lovely colors and gentle feel. Good sentiment.

Lovely imagery and well place references that are befitting to his famous French impressionist’s water paintings and convey the emotion of the song lyric.

Beautiful imagery and take on skirmish. Looking forward to hearing it in a song.

Hi Amanda, I google Claude Monet (famous french painter ) and so your lyrics come alive knowing about him. I always look things up I don't know what it is. Yes, so your chorus is amazing and I too want to live in Claude Monet. Blues pinks and greens jump out at me. I had to look up silt too (Mud or fine earth deposited from running or standing water.). Also, hell hole...lol...that jumps at me too. I think the pre-chorus is pretty catchy. The right singer would be able to deliver the chorus. I like this a lot...nice job Amanda.

This is a great idea for a song, and I like the picture you've painted. I like the contrast between earthy decay and the bright colorful world of a Monet painting. Of course, the earthy decay makes all that sparkle and color possible, as you note. Lovely work here

I commented on the beautiful lyrics before and the music for it is brilliant! So well paced as if walking in an exploring the landscapes he painted. Absolutely gorgeous!

Hi, I just commented on John's audio and hit a bad button and it's gone...sorry. I was simply saying that the melody and vocals were very good and easy to listen to and a great demo. Sorry I lost those comments....great job by both. My lazy hands on my laptop and I hit a bad button a poof the whole thing was gone. I did hear the whole song and it was very well done with nice guitar and vocals and melody.

Very, very nice setting of beautiful lyrics. Love "I want to see things in soft blue color" and "lily pads and sparkling glass." Mellow delivery gets across the longing for beauty that's in all of us.

The color lines in the lyrics are particularly evocative--"sparkling glass, faded blues and pinks". The musical setting is equally impressionistic and pretty, nice collab both of you!

That guitar motif is pretty compelling, moving things along and given one something to hold on to as the lyric washes over us. I want to climb inside the song

Gentle,, sad and very nice. With great respect for the works of Claude Monet both lyrically, vocally but also as for the guitar playing. Loved the feel of this!
