Liner Notes:

This lyric is a creation of the challenge Lyric Morph #2.

I didn't so much as change whole lines into new subjects, I more took what was being said and reworded it into my own style and thoughts. Keeping the ethos and direction of the lyric, mostly.

I did add a bridge, which is completely new, but within the same topic.

The previous lyric is here, by @kahlo2013 http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/song/39564 Thank you Liz Smile

Lyrics:

v1
Let’s ask our youth 'bout drugs an' harm
Work out some things without alarm
Listen close to what they say
And don't downplay

There’s much to learn in ancient books
To work it out just why we knelt
In blind eye worship of the text
Scandals in robes

chorus
Its up to us
The paths we choose
We can’t ignore
Obvious clues

Its up to us
The thoughts we think
We can't ignore
The love and truth

v2
If what we call religion fails
And prayers alone are not enough
To save us from the hidden ones
From fists and lust

Our future rests on all of us
To out the ones that cause the pain
Commit ourselves on high and low
To break the chains

chorus
Its up to us
The paths we choose
We can’t ignore
Obvious clues

Its up to us
The thoughts we think
We can't ignore
The love and truth

bridge
Abuse is often swept under
The rugs in high up offices
But what once was it doesn't have
To be the way we go from now
Let's make a vow

chorus
Its up to us
The paths we choose
We can’t ignore
Obvious clues

Its up to us
The thoughts we think
We can't ignore
The love and truth

Interesting song and build up. Supercool to collab on lyrics like this

Awesome morph! Great job moving into a different structure and powering up the message. Love it!

Good lyric, almost rappy if the 4th line was longer. Would be a good slightly angry spitty vocal song
