Liner Notes:

This is not about the environment.
It is a quick nod to the realization that football season is here, and in my house that means if I want to see my wife on Sunday afternoons/evenings, Monday nights, Thursday nights, Friday nights, or virtually anytime Saturday, I need to watch a little football. She grew up in Texas and says it is is a Texas tradition. Right. Respect Tradition. Now she almost always watches the Green Bay Packer pro team and the Wisconsin Badgers college team .... and literally any college or pro team from Texas, or any Michigan team within a 200 mile radius of where we used to live, any team within 500 miles of Connecticut as we once lived there, any team in the NFL as they might be competing for the NFL Championship with the Packers, any Division 1 college team that might have a chance of being in the top 50 teams. And I have learned it is really important to watch the pre- and post-game shows too. Right. They are riveting.
I have gotten really good at making snacks for football games and working on my computer and staying otherwise out of the way.

Lyrics:

Go Green!

V1
get the chips
I’ve got the salsa
grab the dip
it’s time for football
don’t be long
the TV is
already on

where are you?
what is wrong?
come here!
the TV is on!

C
go green
go green and gold
go all the way
be strong and bold

go green
go green and gold
go get the ball
in the end zone
at Lambeau...

V2
get the cheese
I’ve got the crackers
grab the beer
root for the Packers
hurry dear
kick-off is
almost here

where are you?
don’t you care?
come on!
kick off is here!

C
go green
go green and gold
go all the way
be strong and bold

go green
go green and gold
go get the ball
in the end zone
at Lambeau...

B
hey honey, hey dear
how come you’re not here
it’s almost halftime now
and we are losing I fear
we need you to come
to come here and cheer
oh, yeah, and we need more
salsa, cheese, chips and beer

C
go green
go green and gold
go all the way
be strong and bold

go green
go green and gold
go get the ball
in the end zone
at Lambeau...

OUTRO
isn’t it great, honey,
watching the
green and gold at Lambeau
together at home?

You wouldn't be alone there! All different sports have this effect all around the globe. A real story about day to day life, nice skirmish!

lol...looking at the liner notes is killing me. I use to be a pretty big sports fan myself so I can totally relate. Things are a litter more serious midwest and south with football being big in college and even high school. NFL, hmmm, we're Niners fans...lol. That said, the Raiders are moving here to Las Vegas next year. I'll probably be a Raiders fan too.

Looking at the lyrics...nice opening verse set the scene up perfectly. Chorus...very strong packers cheer. The next verse, where are you, don't you care? That's funny Liz as we were like that too with people who were not watching every second of the big games. The bridge, we're losing, you need to get in here and start cheering. The last section with the question that only has one answer if you want to stay married...lol. Great job on this Liz.

I liked your liner notes almost as much as the lyric. I was raised by a Texan. We watched all that football. I still do. Seahawks, Rams, Titans, Huskies and Ducks for starters. Wink I cheer your take on the skirmish. Rah, rah!

OMG I truly feel for you Sad I would love to hear this musicated. The rhythm of the lines adds to the feel of serious urgency that the singer has to get the other person to come and watch the game with them !
Has your wife read the liner notes ? Wink

Hahahahahaha! I feel ya! But everything is made better with chips, salsa, cheese, and crackers, yes?
Great rhyming and rhythm. A real easy to follow beat to the whole thing.
That bridge is the BEST!
I bet you could sell this to the NFL and make a fortune. Do it!!!
