Liner Notes:

Had 10 minutes to write this. Might have a look back at it later

Lyrics:

A little slice of paradise

V1 Everyday has been a trudge
Working in the city
I cant find a way out
It seems oh such a pity

V2 But Weekend is now here
So i go and get away
To my little piece of sanity
Where i want to be each day

C I stand on those pretty shores
The water seems so nice
Im here for a little break
In my slice of Paradise

V3 Doesn’t matter what is thrown at me
I no longer have to seek
My little place of beauty
keeps me going through the week

V4 And soon as the office clocks
Ticks on past the the hour of four
I rush straight out
Don’t stay one minute more

C I stand on those pretty shores
The water seems so nice
Im here for a little break
In my slice of Paradise

B If only if only
I could forever stay
Well unfortunately not just yet
Maybe another day

C I stand on those pretty shores
It all seems so nice
Im here for a little break
In my slice of Paradise

Ah, paradise! Nothing more refreshing and rejuvenating than time at a beautiful shore and you capture that well. I am at my weekend lake retreat now. I can totally relate to your lyric! Lovely response to the skirmish.

Looking at the lyrics...the first parts leads to the chorus which delivers a beach or a lake..nice. Also, pretty is a nice visual...pretty shores. The verse all lead to a getaway shore which a lot of people actually do. My neighbor use to go fishing every weekend. The bridge exaggerates this place even further to a perfect getaway. Good job on this John.

Beautiful lyrics full of imagery, very good descriptions, visual and with a very nice answer to the challenge.

Love this! Reminds me so much of my life - we live a few miles inland from the Gulf of Mexico, and Fort Myers Beach, Florida is my go-to spot you describe.
I've been listening to an Apple Music playlist called Yacht Rock lately - pop hits with a sort of mellow jazz-funk feel from the '70s and early '80s. I can imagine that kind of vibe for your words.

That's the best kind of daydreams, John. When you're in a dreamy place, and dream of the day you don't ever have to leave it.
Nice job!
