Liner Notes:

My husband keeps a close eye on the financial markets, the global economy, demographics and politics. He has been warning everyone that the next crash is likely to be a humdinger. So rather than lose everything, like in 2008, he's advised people to get out of the Stock Market and go into 30 year US Treasuries and or CD's. Nobody really listened. But WE shifted into treasuries and CD's back in October when interest rates were still well above 3%. We took the interest from those and bought a few more treasuries last week at 2.06%. Right now, the interest rate on 30 year treasuries is 2.03%, so even our recent ones have increased in value. When the Market bottoms (2021? 2022? 2023?) , we'll sell the treasuries for a huge profit and move into closed end fund ETF's. I was so excited to see our mark-to-market yesterday that I started singing this refrain!

Addendum: Recently 30 year US Treasury Bonds rates have gone back up to 2.20%. This means we've given back about10% of our gains. The good news is that means there's a better deal right now for anyone who wants to buy US Treasuries. If we had any more money we'd definitely be buying more! We foresee the rates going to zero over the next few years which will make our capital gains soar while we continue to collect 3% on the principle. Rates in Europe & Japan have been negative for some time.

Lyrics:

The stock market’s crashing but our bonds are making money.
The stock market’s crashing but our bonds are making money.
The stock market’s crashing but our bonds are making money.
The stock market’s crashing but our bonds are making money.

The stock market’s crashing but our bonds are making money.
The stock market’s crashing but our bonds are making money.
The stock market’s crashing but our bonds are making money.
The stock market’s crashing but our bonds are making money.

The stock market’s crashing but our bonds are making money.
The stock market’s crashing but our bonds are making money.
The stock market’s crashing but our bonds are making money.
The stock market’s crashing but our bonds are making money.

Thank you, Mr. Trump, for your stupid trade war
If the FED reduces interest rates, we’ll make a whole bunch more
We’ve told our friends to sell all their equities
And put their money into no risk treasuries.

The stock market’s crashing but our bonds are making money.
The stock market’s crashing but our bonds are making money.
The stock market’s crashing but our bonds are making money.
The stock market’s crashing but our bonds are making money.

This is an educational song! I know very little about all this, but now I know more and in a fun way!

Way to rub it in!!! Seriously we did not listen and we have most everything in high risk stocks... I am hoping we bounce back big time! Catchy song but tell me what to do now?

I'm not a financial advisor. But I would sell them and buy bonds instead. Better late than never. Dave predicts that stocks are poised to lose up to 80% soon - probably worse than 2009. When? We don't know. Could start this fall or stocks could go back up for a while and then crash in 2020 or 2021 or 2022. Meanwhile, we are risk off.

wow, that's the most musical and tuneful financial advice I've ever heard!

I'm not quite sure the stock market is about to crash, tho I think no one really knows much when it comes to all of this, who knows... what we've got is spread around , some stocks, some bonds, hopefully it'll all work out. Meanwhile, your harmony and singing skills (wish I could sing harmony!) are first-rate and "A" rated!!

fun song!

This is so catchy! I love the layering of the harmonies, and the jaunty cadence to the lyrics. Excellent job!
