These were lyrics I wrote last 5090 that I had sent to Gwyn - he dug them out last week and put music to them.

Lyrics:

SLOW BURN – Cooper/Jones
(c) All Rights Reserved 2019

It’s been a slow slow trickle
Like a drip drip drip
Until I felt my heart
A-goin’ flip flip flip

I can’t stop stop thinkin’
‘Bout the slip slip slip
How it caught me up
And made me trip trip trip

It’s been a slow slow journey
Down a path path path
To realise the truth
That’s all I ask ask ask

I can’t stop stop feeling
In this way way way
It’s a kinda slow burn
I have to say say say

It’s a kinda slow burn
It’s a kinda wrong turn
It’s a kinda heart yearn
It’s a kinda slow burn

Like a want want needin’
All the time time time
Wanna have have have ya
Make ya mine mine mine

But the world world won’t
Let us be be be
So what we have have have
Is what you see see see

It’s been a slow slow journey
Down a path path path
To realise the truth
That’s all I ask ask ask

I can’t stop stop feeling
In this way way way
It’s a kind of slow burn
I have to say say say

It’s a kinda slow burn
It’s a kinda wrong turn
It’s a kinda heart yearn
It’s a kinda slow burn

It’s a kinda slow burn
It’s a kinda wrong turn
It’s a kinda heart yearn
It’s a kinda slow burn

It’s a kinda slow burn
It’s a kinda wrong turn
It’s a kinda heart yearn
It’s a kinda slow burn

So glad Gwyn put music to your words! An enjoyable bounce to this tune. I hear in the chorus especially why the "Detroit" sound is what you hear in this one! Cheers!

Very cool musical treatment of this lyric. I'm dancing in my chair!! Dance 4

I don't know what is Detroit style. But this is very pleasant and danceable to me, makes me feel I'm in a club with a drink in my hand having the time of my life with friends.

love the bounce-along feel of this. the format of the repeated slip slip slip structure works nicely, love that organ!

That thrice repeated hook you've got going here works amazingly well. And the Phil Collins drum beat works beautifully as a rhythm foundation for the fun melody that suits the lyric very well. You two are working together very well.
