Demo:

Liner Notes:

Found the first verse in my old song babies folder. Added the chorus etc. Selected a guitar loop from my grab bag and massaged it. My husband says the guitar is jammin' but the melody Is smooth. He doesn't think they fit together well. Too bad...more songs to go and time is flying! LOL

Lyrics:

Have I Told You Lately That I Love You?
Susan Cantey © 2019

Have I told you lately that I love you?
Have I told you how much I care?
Have I held you in the night and kissed you?
Have I shown you how I feel every day?

Thank you darling for loving me
You’re the notes in my melody
Thank you darling for all you do
Every day is a good day with you

Have I told you lately I adore you
For all the joy you have given to me?
Have I told you lately how much I love you?
‘Cause it’s true, I really do, my dear

Thank you darling for loving me
You are the notes in my melody
Thank you darling for all you do
Every day is a good day with you

short guitar solo

Have I told you lately that I love you?
Oh darling, you know it’s true.

Strange. I commented on this one half an hour ago but it vanished. I think they work pretty well and your love sonns are always so good!

When I heard the very "clean" guitar, -- looked for the liner notes, unsure if'n you were a gat play'r Smile

Anyway, since mentioned, -- I thought the mix and orchestration was "good". And, actually, since I comment on stuff musically not if I "like" it or not, can say this, -- I was liking this one. I actually imo that your voice, while works w/keys fits the tonal timbre of a guitar, elec or acoustic well. One can't say "better" since would be song specific ime.

Tso, derUgo Wink

And, actually Smile -- this is one that, one could easily spin in a bunch of other into the mix not to complicate it but engage it. Sounds like you keep time well, used the guitar as "click" or had one going. I don't know, never asked if you can reach the octave above the one you hit here, or engage any belty textures, fry, etc.? Not that you're gonna be a "roc'nroller", but, just document some limits in your range for the fun of it.

Now, derUgo Smile hahhh!

Nice song. I like your voice and I think the guitar works well with it. I like the arrangement with the harmonies and the subtle solo.

Naww, sweet lyrics. I like the contrast between the smooth vocal line and the pulsing guitars, a bit of contrast never goes astray. Gives it a modern feel.

Very sweet sentiments. Comes across as sincere. I can see this on the stage. I also think the guitar gives an energetic, modern feel to the song. Beautiful harmonies. Good job!
