Been a long time coming.

Lyrics:

She used to run with the beautiful people,
drive her Mercedes down to the mall
Shop til she dropped and laugh at the Sheeple,
then hit the bar til the last call

But she gave all her love to the best party drugs,
running with scissors til she hit the wall
Now she threads her heart through the eye of a needle,
leaves no regrets after the fall

She’s a ghost in the waffle house

Now all of her lovers are scattered and smothered,
she hates being alone and she doesn’t like crowds
She loves the fake butter and the alien abductors,
sits alone in her booth and cries into her shroud

She’s a ghost in the waffle house 4x

He was a greeter at Walmart, way back in the garden part,
checking receipts to make sure you don’t steal
Just an old fart that looked through your shopping cart,
one tiny spoke in the big business wheel

He gave all his love to the best party drugs,
running with scissors til he hit the wall
Now he threads his heart through the eye of a needle,
and leaves no regrets after the fall

He’s a ghost in the waffle house

All of his lovers are scattered and smothered,
he hates being alone but he doesn’t like crowds
He loves the fake butter and the alien abductors,
sits alone in a booth and cries into his shroud

He’s a ghost in the waffle house
Just a ghost in the waffle house now
A ghost in the waffle house
A ghost in the waffle house now

This is so wonderfully melancholy as it illustrates the vulnerability of our existence so perfectly. I love the characters you develop. The hook is so vividly poignant. Great delivery of the music too.

good character studies. i particularly liked the verse about the walmart greeter. effective device of using the same chorus for both characters, and glad yiu didnt have them meet at the end and fall in love.

Somehow I imagined that this was going to be funny and boy oh boy. Very moving story and playing. the melody is beautiful and your voice is gorgeous. Strong, sweet and powerful when needed. Full of emotion.
