Liner Notes:

This lyric was written for the regular Sunday night skirmish, and this week's theme was Money.
Money = Moolah Smile Took 20 mins in total.

I LOVE rock and roll, and in my less disabled days I could jive with the best of them Smile I learnt as soon as I could walk, from parents who were big into the genre and dances.

Corey says: Man, was that a load of fun to record. There's nothing wrong with a bit of Rock & Roll every now and then. I'm particularly proud of the guitar solo, tried to channel Bill Hayley and the Comets on that one Smile

Lyrics:

v1
Well it's time to rock
And it's time to roll
Time to drop our hair
Right down and go

chorus
To the moolah moolah boogie
The moolah moolah boogie
Do the moolah moolah boogie
The moolah moolah boogie
Grab your dancing shoes
Let's rock right through the night

v2
Spin your girl around
Then hold her close
Do the age old thing
An make her float

chorus
To the moolah moolah boogie
The moolah moolah boogie
Do the moolah moolah boogie
The moolah moolah boogie
Grab your dancing shoes
An' let's rock right through the night

Solo

v3
Let's cut a rug
An bust a groove
Do the jitterbug
Boy can we move

chorus
To the moolah moolah boogie
The moolah moolah boogie
Do the moolah moolah boogie
The moolah moolah boogie
Grab your dancing shoes
An' let's rock right through the night
Grab your dancing shoes
An' let's rock right through the night
Grab your dancing shoes
An' let's rock right through the night

This has such a great cadence and sings off the page! That chorus is going to be so crazy contagious!

The fifties vibe drips off this one! I can almost hear that jaunty blues riff in E, haha. Great classic style!

Very cool dancing lyrics Amanda. I'm sure there is a demo on a horizon. Please let me know when it's up.

That is real rock 'n' roll. Takes me back. I remember all those songs that used nonsense syllables. A very cool take on the prompt.

Has a Johnny Kemp 'Just Got Paid' vibe but a rock version. This makes me hear a LOT of rhythm guitar and a very tight drummer, with maybe a voice like Blondie or something.
I like how you convey a mood AND rhythm/vibe with your writing.

Looking at the lyrics...lol..very nice opening v1. Love the chorus...the moolah moolah boogie...very nice. v2...spin your girl around...love that. v3 is nice as well and has a 50s kind of rock n roll feel...do the jitterbug...that's cool. Yes, this is pretty good Amanda, I like it.

Back in the mid '80s or so, and because of my dad's listening habits, I got big into 50s rock and doo-wop. You made me so nostalgic for that time in my life! And I've always dug rockabilly, and I could hear these cool words going that direction too. And "moolah" - such a groovy, powerful word to build a song around. Good one!
