Tim sez: I read this one in kahlo2013's astounding output and put up my hand. Then ran into messes and extraneous troubles.

I'm trying to meet my collab commitments this month, but this ahd dropped off the radar. Then along came a notion and lo! a one shot that doesn't mangle Liz's lyrics. (at least not too much).

How the one shot was done: recorded to a keyboard click with the keyboard (Privia) feeding the R channel but also being MIDI recorded, and the voice to the L channel. Then the MIDI re-rendered with another piano patch (hey, you didn't want the click, really, did you? ) A bit of pitch correction on voice, as the melody was being made up on the run and voila! Here it is. Although I progressively forgot the chorus as I recorded.!!

Liz says: I’m so very grateful for Tim’s gorgeous music that perfectly captures the sentiment I was trying to convey with the lyric. With his wonderful touch on the keys, soulful vocals, musical sensibility, and empathetic sensitivity he draws out the emotion beautifully. Thanks, Tim! Love it!

SOMEWHERE ELSE

V1
sitting by the shore
I hear you sing
in dancing leaves
of a willow

lying awake at night
I see your face
in soft moonlight
on my pillow

PC1
I hear you
I see you
everywhere
everywhere

I hear you
I see you
everywhere
everywhere

C
you always seem to be there.....
there somewhere...
somewhere else
when I want you..

you always seem
to be there somewhere...
somewhere else
when I want
you here...

V2
walking down the road
I find your heart
in fields full
of bluebells

standing on the hill
I sense your soul
in the sunset’s
red farewell

PC2
I find you
I sense you
everywhere
everywhere

I find you
I sense you
everywhere
everywhere

C
you always seem
to be there.....
there somewhere...
you always seem
to be there.....
somewhere...

somewhere else
when I want you..
somewhere else
when I want you..
when I want you
here...

B
I know you are no longer mine
but I want to gaze into your eyes
and hear those three words
three words you used to say....
one more time

Instr B

PC3
I can’t have you
but I want you
I can’t have you
but I want you

I can’t have
but I want you
right back here
right back here

C
you always seem
to be there.....
there somewhere...
you always seem
to be there.....
somewhere...

somewhere else
when I want you..
somewhere else
when I want you..
somewhere else
when I want you here
when I want you here...

when I want you here...
when I want you here...

tim and liz are a winning combination. his respect for the lyric is apparent in every breath and fingerstroke, the sentiment on the lyric is a universal one, and liz evokes those feelings with an expert touch. my favorite phrase is sunsets red farewell. Tims music provides the perfect setting and mode of expression. one of my favorites from two of my favorites.

"In the sunset's red farewell"....beautiful. Such lovely imagery throughout. Very touching. And the piano and vocal are quite moving. The vocal is invested in the emotion and the longing comes across in the rolling piano. Well done!

Was into this immediately when I heard the style of piano.
Knowing that this was a Kahlo lyric and seeing the tags, I figured this would be a good listen.
I was correct.
Warm lyrics, intimate vocals over the lovely piano.

I like the images in the lyric, the blue bells contrasted with the red sunset. And I agree that the music enhances the sentiment and emotion very well.
