Liner Notes:

This one's very wistful.

Note: Susan Cantey is setting this to music.

Lyrics:

Warm water laps against the sagging dock
The hillside shakes its summer coat
And the breeze brings back your scent to me
Far off on that boat
Far off on that boat

Your laughter’s ringing through my memories
And I still see your drowsy eyes
We can take away the things we give
Why’s it a surprise?
Why’s it a surprise?

I walk back to the little house
That used to be our home
Redtail circles overhead
Like me, he’s alone
Like me, he’s alone

(Instrumental)

Your laughter’s ringing through my memories
And I still see your drowsy eyes
So you took away the love you gave
Why’s it a surprise?
Why’s it a surprise?
Why’s it a surprise?

Oh so poetic and poignantly nostalgic and wistful. Effective use of repeated lines. Great imagery! You capture the feeling well.

Certainly wistful and endearing too. I love the part about the hawk and you both being alone. Great!

Love it! Can I steal it and do some music before someone else does? I probably won't have the time until Tuesday.

Very wistful indeed and the very painful portrait of memories happy and gone is very poignant
