Liner Notes:

What kicked off this one was Morpheus's first speech to Neo in "The Matrix" but from the "blue pill" perspective. I'm finding it hard to accept that that film's twenty years old.

I'm trying to open up my productions a bit and not throw the kitchen sink into everything. I've a way to go yet...

Lyrics:

Something is lurking at the edges of your mind
An itch that you can't scratch, an answer you can't find

Every day you try to make sense of it all
It's never been this bad as far as you recall

You need to see the contrast between what you feel inside
And finding solace somehow when your wishes are denied
If you don't go with the flow, your woes are amplified
It's time you learnt to fight the urge to flail against the tide

Happiness can't be supplied by things you haven't got
Disasters sometimes happen, but remember: they may not

You need to see the contrast between what you feel inside
And finding solace somehow when your wishes are denied
If you don't go with the flow, your woes are amplified
It's time you learnt to fight the urge to flail against the tide

And so I offer this advice to those who are perplexed:
Enjoy each moment and then move on to the next

You need to see the contrast between what you feel inside
And finding solace somehow when your wishes are denied
If you don't go with the flow, your woes are amplified
It's time you learnt to fight the urge to flail against the tide

Please keep your comments respectful, honest, and constructive. Please focus on the song and not the demo.

I s it really 20 years old? Gosh. Great writing about something rather deep. You made it work though! Nice

i love the bass lines here, they make me think of the whos boris the spider. there are also some bowie elements that i find appealing. the general arrangement, though, is celestial. makes me feel like im floating in space,

There's a nice contrast here both in the major/minor feel of the chords and also the 'here is the negative, but here is what you gotta do to overcome' nature of the lyrics. (at least what I got from it)
Yeah production is spot on as always from you.
Question - how are you doing your drums? Is that programming or did you already (sorry, my memory is trash) tell me before its one of those cool drummer programs? Either way they sound awesome here and give the song such a cool foundation for all the watery guitars. That wateryness if my favorite result of reverb, and I LOVE when people use it on guitars.
Another cool track, man!
(please don't remind me of this movie's age...my head hurts thinking about that! lol)

Yeah, I can hear your different production; this song has a lot of space in it.
I'm liking that bass line (da-doop da-doop da-doop).
Really excellent lyrics; just go with the flow, man.
Appealing headphone mix, as usual.
I'm wondering if there's any reverb going on here, though...
