Klaus wrote: I've been meaning to do a collab with Alex @metalfoot for some time now and this year it happened. Twice actually. Alex sent me some rockin' lyrics so I rocked a little bit. Thank you, Alex, for these wonderful lyrics. They were very easy to put into music.

Since Alex's lyrics said "Let it slide" I played some slide too. Slide guitar was also influenced by Alvin Stardust's glam rock hit from the 70s, "You, You, You ".

metalfoot here. I'm so glad that Klaus and I were able to connect for a couple songs, since I'm a huge fan of his work. I'm very happy with how this one turned out! Thanks, Klaus!!!

Lyrics:

Let It Roll
(c) 2019 Alex Klages

Here I go on the open road
Leaving behind my heavy load
Here I go down the lonely trail
Hoping to break from my mental jail

Let it roll
Let it ride
Let it go
Let it slide
Time to set it all aside
For a minute or two
For a minute or two

Here I go down the crowded street
Dancing lightly on my aching feet
Here I go down the long highway
Singing out as the radio plays

Let it roll
Let it ride
Let it go
Let it slide
Time to set it all aside
For a minute or two
For a minute or two

I don't know how long this feeling will last
But I know I want to catch it before
The moment is past

Let it roll
Let it ride
Let it go
Let it slide
Time to set it all aside
For a minute or two
For a minute or two

guitar....drums and another guitar...sounds great...here I go on the open road leaving behind my handy road.....let it go...let it slide...nice pauses...i hear the slides...vocals sound great...let it go...let it slide hide...standing on the side for a minute minute minute yeah yeah yeah (Beatles)...bridge or changeup now...the moment is....not sure if that's a kazoo...sounds good thought...drums are solid....let it go let it slide...awesome sounding guitars....tremolo and out. Awesome collab guys, I like it a lot!

Sounds like gritty Detroit muscle car rock and roll to me. Smile One should always end a song with slide guitar with just a little extra slide because the slide player can't stop playing now, am I right?

this has that loose rocking feeling of The Faces as well as glam groups like T Rex. I like what you are doing wth your voice. that rough casual attitude, ;lower pitched than usual.

Give that a 90s indie feel and in the chorus it could be Oasis. Works equally well as a 70s rocker, which I guess show how the style is adaptable. Liked the slide guitars. they add a distinctive edge and help anchor it in the right time period.

Not sure anyone needed to see Alvin Stardust in that outfit, though ...

Wow this is different and what a great surprise! More collabs please!

Definitely get a 70s-glam rock vibe ... do you have thigh-igh gold or silver platform boots? I like the growly vocal and the slide guitar ... sounds like you're having lots of fun Sweet-style!

Wow yeah, a rough-edged glam rocker for sure.
A really effective collab; the music and lyrics go so well together.
Lovely slide work here.
Ooh, backwards bits!!
Excellent work, Klaus and metalfoot!!

I like the classic rock feel in the intro guitar that is still a bit unique in the pacing of the chords. This is an easy song to listen to, it's an upbeat, optimistic rocker. Good collab, guys.
