My tarot epic continues as the Knight of Cups rides on

Lyrics:

Knight Of Cups

Gm Cm Ddim
There used to be a knight in shinning armor

Gm Cm Ddim
In a quest for love, the meaning of his life

Gm Cm Ddim
Roaming all across the edges of the world

Gm Cm Ddim
His only companions the white steed and loneliness

Adim Cm Ddim Gm
Armed with a heart that collects virtues

Adim Cm Ddim Cm
And with the grail where goodness abounds

Cm Ddim Fm Cm
Fought so hard to keep at bay the tempting thrall of darkness

Cm Ddim Fm Cm
Every punch he threw he thought ‘is it enough to win the war?’

Cm Adim Cm
Carried the weight of the world

Cm Adim Fm
Felt he had to do it all

Cm Adim Cm
Crumbled under the toll

Cm Adim Fm
Of his own wished perfection

Cm
Ah

Gm Cm Ddim
This knight is a prince charming in his own right

I was attracted to this song because I just published a song called "Red queens"! I love the image that this song portray, and the message.

Quite a visual story and I like the delivery. Ooooh a lot of diminished chords and the rest minors really set the mood.

This is wonderfully dramatic! Are you going to pull your tarot epic together as a musical? If so, I can see this working really well for it.

I have a fascination with Tarot packs, and often use them myself as a source of musical inspiration, so I was intrigued to hear what you'd offer up.

And I LOVE it! It's so damn operatic, theatrical, dramatic. Excellent!

I like the contrast of the chorus from the verses. The quick fire vocal delivery works very well and I agree wit the earlier comment that this has a weight, a dramatic feel to it that lends itself to the lyric. You are able to emote as the narrator and effectively convey the lyric here.

Looking at the lyrics...a knight in shining armor...nice. quest for love, the meaning of life...strong. Roaming across the edge of the world...love it. Carried the weight of the world...nice. Prince charming...strong. Love the "ah" . Dripping venom...strong. Ok, yeah, reminds me of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Pretty good...I'm ready for the audio now...hold. Vocals and piano...sounds good...can clearly understand the lyrics...strong singing...piano hitting harder now but still clear...ah part...sounds good...very strong singing and melody...ok, it's over now. Yeah, I thought it was fabulous. I'll do this, I'll take off my headset and listen on the laptop speakers. the reason why is the power is so strong (not too loud...just power of performance) that sometimes a small speaker is easier to understand the lyrics. I do understand the lyrics as I have reviewed them but I want to test this on the laptop speakers...hold. I can understand it easier. the "ah" part sounds good...I like both angles with headset and without....that's a good thing. "ah" nice melody...I notice on the lyrics it said solo. Just a note on that...could be a good thing to let the piano play for a little bit in the middle. I don't really know if that works in this genre but just a thought...more piano solos. Great job on this, enjoyed it very much as I do all of your stuff. See you next time. I'll be around even after the challenge.

I really like the piano playing and the use of interesting chords! I'm going to do a few piano songs for a fresh approach to chord structure and progression - get me out of my guitar way of thinking,
I love your vocal delivery - theatrical and enthusiastic and inspired. Great storytelling with your voice.

I see this as maybe the lure, the appeal, the temptation of perfection, never striking hard enough. Fighting a war that cannot be won, by definition.
