Deanna created a beautiful heart wrenching lyric that I thought deserved a classical treatment. I changed the title from "I'll Show Him" to "I'll Show Him What Love Is" because the shorter title had a different connotation to me (like angry maybe). I've learned lately that the title should, preferably, give the audience a clear idea of what the song is about. I also worded the choruses the same as the last chorus, cause I like choruses to be the same, unless there's a huge reason to change them up, and changed a couple of other lines in verse 1 because "shot" didn't feel very classical when I sang it. LOL

Lyrics:

I’ll Show Him
(c) Deanna Sweidel & Susan Cantey

To the one that holds his heart
Even though you’ve let him go
This letter is for you
There’s something you must know

All the promises you made
All the vows that you forgot
I can give to him
Everything you’ve not

I’ll show him how to laugh
I’ll show him how to live
I’ll show him happiness
I’ll show him what love is

To the one that holds his heart
Even though you walked away
This letter is for you
There’s something I must say

All the promises you made
Never gave a second glance
I want to be the one
To have the second chance

I’ll show him how to laugh
I’ll show him how to live
I’ll show him happiness
I’ll show him what love is

All the damage that you’ve done
I know I can repair
But in his eyes I see
Well, I still see you there

And the promises you made
All the vows that you ignored
I will give to him
I can give him more

I’ll show him how to laugh
I’ll show him how to live
I’ll show him happiness
I’ll show him what love is

To the one that holds his heart
I had to let you know
This letter is for you
I will never let him go

This is very, very moving. The harmonies are excellent. This has a Les Miserables feel to it (in a good way of course). I could imagine an audience holding back the tears when this played. The lyrics are very good indeed, they tell a very complete story. The letter idea is very powerful idea and the final verse shows such a lot of determination and love. Great work both of you.

I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy... [I am bowing before you] This was beyond awesome. Perfect vocal and lovely piano backing to, obviously, inspiring lyrics. Just amazing, amazing stuff--great collab!
