Liner Notes:

Corey and I decided to try a collaboration together. He sent me his "Have You Ever" music composition. When I write to music, I listen to what the music speaks to me and it determines the topic and direction of the lyric.

It was such a happy tune. it called for some happy content and what could be happier than raising a little girl! (Boys too, but I had to pick only one for the song.) It was quite a chunk of words to sing in a squished in space, ya know, (has to roll off the tongue pretty fast) and the key pretty up there, which made for quite a challenge, (I tried it, I know) but Corey pulled it off beautifully. I knew he would and he's got a great voice for it. Loved the music, Corey, and especially the music with your vocals singing my lyrics! I really enjoyed this!

God Knows She Colors Rainbows Over Clouds
Lyrics by Kc Chad © 2019

Verse:
She was donning her mid-morning, oatmeal mask
Cucumber slices cooling eyes for puffiness
Her ear bud wires weave through curlers in her hair
She was rocking out the songs on her playlist

My heart was sworn to her from the day she was born
When tiny wrinkled fingers curled around mine
When her sealed eyes opened wide and her ribbon lips smiled
It was then I knew my heart had leapt some miles

There’s nothing like a daisy crowned, laughing little girl
To shake up all the soda pop and wake up my whole world
She bedazzles night time skies and sprinkles glitter all around
God knows she colors rainbows over clouds

Even though I want to hold her forevermore
The pixie dust she loves so much will still wear off
With the Neverland, find me games nearing their end
There’s no guarantee of where her wings will land

There’s nothing like a daisy crowned, laughing little girl
To shake up all the soda pop and wake up my whole world
She bedazzles night time skies and sprinkles glitter all around
God knows she colors rainbows over clouds

I must admit the world needs more of her
This fluffernut can buckle up and learn to share
I can’t begrudge what’s needed much by this world
I’ve been blessed to have had her for the years I have

There’s nothing like a daisy crowned, laughing little girl
To shake up all the soda pop and wake up my whole world
She bedazzles night time skies and sprinkles glitter all around
God knows she colors rainbows over clouds

She was born to color rainbows over clouds

Great lyrics! Love the images here. EDIT: And a great performance by Corey to bring these lyrics to life. Definitely 70s soft rock of the sort I listened to as a kid on the radio.

this is 70s soft rock at its most lyrical. it plays like a cross between glam and folk, vocals are super and the phrasing breaks down the long lyrical lines into tasty pieces of musical confection.

Cool arrangement, and yeah, these are some expressive, interesting lyrics; they lend themselves to a purple pop-rocks kinda vibe-- I dig purple pop rocks.

Very good soft rock vibe. This is all very my little pony and cute. "rainbows over clouds" sings so wel,l and Corey really does a good job making that happen.

This is so wonderful and reminds me of my young days of 70's soft rock! I love the originality of the lyrics. Awesome collab!

Super sweet lyrics, really not what you see here very often, full of life and paternal love. Great performance by Corey to make the song pop.

Fantastically mixed and mastered! REALLY nice job in that aspect. Great lyrics and great vocal--and the arrangement (especially as so professionally mixed and mastered) is superb! Nice collaboration, guys!

This is completely worthy of that "70s soft rock" tag. You nail the seventies vibe completely and that tasteful guitar solo is the icing on the cake.

It's a wow. Impressive overall. When a song has a tune that makes you want to listen again. you know you got it right.
It "makes my heart leap some miles," to hear a song that starts out about putting on makeup and moves through epic metaphors, and on into Dylan-esque universal thoughts.

Great collab
