Lyrics:

Life In Distant Seas

If I flew to Paris
Would I find new love
In the City of Light
I think I’d hear the hum

If I flew to Maui
Would I sing and dance
On Napili beach
And dabble in romance

[ch]
Oh, life in distant seas
What a fantasy
Check your problems at the door
Enjoy the company
Life in distant seas
Is there room for me
Pick a passion, ask for more
It’s bursting at the seams

Maybe Tuscany
Is the place to be
Biking thru the vineyards
Gettin’ lost inside the green

In the Cayman Islands
What’s beyond the reefs
Luxury of sunshine
Yeah, all good things are free

[ch]
Oh, life in distant seas
What a fantasy
Check your problems at the door
Enjoy the company
Life in distant seas
Is there room for me
Pick a passion, ask for more
It’s bursting at the seams

[br]
When chaos takes our lives
And wears us down
When our hearts need a lift
We can get out of town

Repeat ch

I loved these lyrics so much and what an awesome way to bring them to life! The deep vocals and music-just wow!

The gently swaying 6/8 time and the minor key is perfect for Kristi's lyrics adding a feeling of traveling the seas. Roel's voice also adds a rough edge in places to the romantic and longing lyrics. As a whole, it works really well. Good collab you two.

Very "seaworthy"--I'm picturing pirates (why pirates?) dancing and singing yo-ho in the background. Great arrangement, vocal and lyrics--nice collab, you two!

Hey Roel! I enjoyed that 6/8 time Klaus mentions too! This is lovely! I'm going to comment up top too! Thank you for bringing these lyrics to life! Love the guitar and other musical elements. Very impassioned vocal!

Lovely sea song. I really enjoy the melodic line in this... it would definitely fit on a ship, but very romantic. Maybe a little French flair. I think I might listen to it again!

That's funny, I was thinking the same thing as Jerry. For some reason I just pictured a bunch of pirates singing a jolly old song. I loved the escapist lyrics, and Roel did a fine job bringing the longing in those words to life. A fine collab!

I really like the escapist nature of this song. Getting lost in the world maybe the way to find our selves.

I saw that Roel had picked this up and couldn't resist starting here. Something epic in the vocals and the GoT 6/8 feel which transforms what could also be a quiet and wistful song into something quite huge! It WOULD also work as quiet and wistful!
