Liner Notes:

I woke up this morning dreaming that a fellow songwriter (who writes mainly piano and choral sheet music) was just finishing composing a choral piece called "Everlasting Light." So I stole it. LOL I had originally planned to write a song about the woman at the well today. Maybe next week. Smile

Lyrics:

The Everlasting Light
Susan Cantey © 2019

In the beginning darkness was over the deep
In the beginning darkness was over the deep
Formless and empty was the earth
The Spirit of God was hovering over the waters
The Spirit of God, the Spirit of God
Formless and empty was the earth
Formless and empty was the earth
Then God said: “Let there be light.”
God said: “Let there be light.”
God said: “Let there be light.”
God said: “Let there be light.”
And there was everlasting light
Everlasting, everlasting light
Everlasting light
Everlasting light
And God saw the light was good
And God saw the light was good
God saw the light was good, good
The everlasting light
The everlasting light

Susan! This is stunningly beautiful. I love women’s choral music and love sacred choral music and this is some of the most gorgeous I have heard. Your timing and phrasing with use of repetition is so powerful. And as always your harmonies are brilliant. This song reaches deep into my soul!

Wow, this is fabulous. I've never heard anything like this in the 50/90. The heavenly music complements the heavenly lyrics perfectly. I really like this one. Good singing, Susan.

Goodness gracious is that all you? What an outrageous surprise, I wish I could sing like that.
It's like being washed all over with coconut milk and jojoba oil, and maybe a drop of WD40 aswell.
