Each Day A Gift

Liner Notes:

Hopefully I'll find some music that'll fit this.

Theme: Old retired guy finds clarity!

Lyrics:

I didn’t know when I was younger
I hardly noticed one by one
The days flew by so quickly
Hardly Mother Nature's son

My life is now much clearer
I can see with wiser eyes
First ran then started walking
All the calm from that implies

Each day is a gift you've been given
Each day should be fully utilized
I don't want to sound too preachy here
I'm just trying to emphasize
You don't have to be productive
Perhaps just walk your dog
Get out and let some sunshine in
And feel everything unclog

I'll play guitar for you each morning
I'll make supper when you come home
I'll breathe you in every single day
Until another year has gone

Every morning when I wake up
With no reason for complacency
I will not be swayed or thwarted
With style most graciously

Each day is a gift you've been given
Each day should be fully utilized
I don't want to sound too preachy here
I'm just trying to emphasize
You don't have to be productive
Perhaps just walk your dog
Get out and let some sunshine in
And feel everything unclog

Oh yeah. You are so right. Every day alive is a great gift. The older I get, the more I understand. Wonderful advice. I hope this finds music as well. It's gonna make a lovely song.

So truly beautiful and tender in its sentiment. I love how the lyric flows as well. Gratitude is such an important attitude.

It's so true. As I've gotten older, I realize it is just easier to take it easy and move with the rhythm of life as it is presented. I like the simplicity of the lyrics here and yet teeming with wisdom.
