Liner Notes:

William Alexander Anderson “Bigfoot” Wallace, was one of the most colorful and toughest of Texas’ frontier characters.
He was a backwoodsman, folk hero, soldier, and Texas Ranger,
who took part in the conflicts of the Republic of Texas and the Mexican-American War.

Lyrics:

Legend Of Bigfoot Wallace

Let me tell you a legend, a true life legend
Of a fearless Texas Ranger
Now, Texas was lawless til along came Wallace
And he feared not any stranger

Oh, oh, Bigfoot Wallace, Bigfoot Wallace
Came from Virginia we are told
A Texas Ranger to tame the lawless
Bigfoot Wallace was tall and bold

The Goliad massacre claimed his brother and cousin
Bigfoot Wallace came to settle the score
In Texas battles and skirmishes more than a dozen
Bigfoot Wallace was still ready for more

Oh, oh, Bigfoot Wallace, Bigfoot Wallace
Came from Virginia we are told
A Texas Ranger to tame the lawless
Bigfoot Wallace was tall and bold

As a Ranger he never turned his other cheek
Frontier justice to him was just like gold
In old Lockhart he fought the Battle Of Plum Creek
Long may his Texas Ranger’s life be told

Oh, oh, Bigfoot Wallace, Bigfoot Wallace
Came from Virginia we are told
A Texas Ranger to tame the lawless
Bigfoot Wallace was tall and bold

Bigfoot Wallace cleaned up the west, wild Texas west
As a Texas Ranger, the law prevailed
Bigfoot Wallace rode for justice and did his best
To bring peace to the early Texas trails

Oh, oh, Bigfoot Wallace, Bigfoot Wallace
Came from Virginia we are told
A Texas Ranger to tame the lawless
Bigfoot Wallace was tall and bold

I just took at tour of the Come And Take It museum in Gonzales. That stuff interests me cause my people are from there. I have a multi great granddad that died at the Alamo, and one that fought in the Texas revolution. I'm deep Texan. Smile Really enjoyed your lyrics and the history behind it. Very cool.

I can hear the arrangement clearly in my head, a bit of banjo in there Wink Cool story which really rolls along, the way you've written it.
