Liner Notes:

Couldn't sleep and wanted to write a song and this kind of came out. I did work on the lyric for a while after the main part of the song was done, though.

Lyrics:

I can hear the wind is blowing
I can feel the storm approaching me
And it's gaining speed

I guess I'm running out of time
Feel like I'm running behind you
And I'm bound to lose

In the quiet I could hear if you left me
But in the storm you sneak out like a thief
Can you find your back home
In the quiet time?

I remember years ago
Long before the storm winds blew us 'round
And the tempest sound

I could hear your gentle breathing
Back when you still believed in us
Now it feels like too much

In the quiet I could hear if you left me
But in the storm you sneak out like a thief
Can you find your back home
In the quiet time?

I'm not saying it's not my fault
Guess we both have built some walls
To end up here
It's hard to tell if you still care
'Cause when I look you're not there
As we disappear

In the quiet I could hear if you left me
But in the storm you sneak out like a thief
Can you find your back home
In the quiet time?

Thatls a sad one indeed. I really like the gentle melancholic vibe you set.

Well, I don't follow you close, but do have a mind for folks work and I gotta say, -- good stuff here. Sometimes, for "me" -- that kind of listen with time gap can be helpful to know, hear about. But, that, like *all feedback comes from (reveals more about the commenter than the subject), -- what "I/We" have a preference for, aye. Smile

So, imo, the 1v1g "go for stuff" like this, works well (memory comparison, first song of your's listened to, - only).

So, I'll guess that's your new to you, still new I am sure, new guitar. I can hear it's good voice.

Nice balance in the 1v1g mic mix, -- track. Dry tracks (mostly), are/is so much better than software "enhanced", great sound/presence there too.

there are rumblings from the id surfacing in what seems a gentle folk ballad about storms, memories, and lost love.

Nice lyrics and guitar intro. Good melody and vocals. Love that "Can you find your way back home". I like the storm story too and the way you morph it into the relationship. Cool bridge. Love the change up slow down near the end with the guitar outro. Good one TC.

Nice phrasing of the verses, guitar part is solid and the melody is good overall! Some standout lyrics like the chorus. Enjoyable listen!

Very contemplative and reflective. I like the melody and the vocal. And the guitar playing, especially between the verses and chorus, complements the mood of the lyrics really well. Very nice song.

I love this metaphor! The ‘quiet’ of a couple attuned to each other, at peace, provides the ability to feel the warning of any disturbances. But when it’s all going wrong anyway, either with chaos or distance, it would be too easy to just lose track, maybe wake up blindsided by an ending. At least this is where my mind goes with it. It’s a sad realization for the singer.
There’s aching in the lines about gentle breathing, and I love how that mirrors the opening lines about the wind blowing. Very nice!
