Liner Notes:

I couldn't sleep last night. The heat in my bedroom was unbearable, and if I opened my big windows a multitude of creepy crawlies would invade and scare the shit outta me Sad

So at about 2.30am for some reason a couple of lines just popped into my head, as they do. And having an atrocious short term memory I knew that if I didn't put the light on and make a note of them, they would be gone within 5 mins, let alone the morning.

Those 2 lines were the first 2 lines of the following song.
"Into the darkness I walk
Into the pit of time"

I wrote the rest this morning, as soon as I had my Sunday morning treat of coffee made Smile Was pretty fast, less than an hour, more like 30 mins. But it is only a first draft, and likely needs a pre chorus, maybe, and also, maybe, a bridge and an outro... maybe Wink

The Dream: yes for as long as I can remember, right from a small child, I have had this dream. I have to admit that in the last couple of years I haven't had it... no idea why not. I don't know why I have the dream. I assume insecurity, as I was in hospital away from family in the early 60s, for almost 2 years (age 2 to almost 4 roughly). The dream started after that. It is always the same, me, sat in the middle of a big bed and the bed is falling down a pit, which has dark walls. It's a big pit, not narrow like a well. I call it a pit, but I've no idea what it really is as I never reach the bottom Smile

Collabs welcome for 50/90 (please read collab info on my main profile page - thanks Smile

Lyrics:

V1
Into the darkness I walk
Into the pit of time
Wandering through shrouds of a past
As my thoughts gather pace
As I try not to drain
Away

Ch
Dreams ebb and fade
With lifes ups and downs
But one stays the same
Being on a bed
Why I can't explain
As it falls
Over and over again
Down down down
Into the dark

V2
I'm not a follower now
I go my own way
But that means I'm outside of the world
Looking in through the glass
Looking out as I move
Away

Ch
Dreams ebb and fade
With lifes ups and downs
But one stays the same
Being on a bed
Why I can't explain
As it falls
Over and over again
Down down down
Into the dark

I 'm definitely getting the dream sensation from this one. I'm interested to see how you develop this one. x

i also write songs like this, waking up mutterng a line or two, writing it down, then in the morning writing to discover what those dreamtime lines meant. good songs can come out of such brain activity and you have a good start on this one, looking forward to hearing it musicated. sometimes music gives the answer,

I think that every songwriter has this dilemma that The music or song pop up in The head when you do other things thats why I always cary at least my harmonica and a noteboom when I am outdoors.
