Liner Notes:

I was in the mood to create a big, fast-paced, reverb-laden sonic wall with a lot of guitar solos and here ya go! I broke out the fully-miked drum kit on this one, four guitars, four vocal layers and... fewer chords than that.

Lyrics are more image or metaphor-based than narrative. I've also been realizing that a lot of my favorite songs have very few lyrics in the chorus, so I've been trying to play around with that.

Drums were a challenge on this one... I can't play this fast reliably. No better way to practice than doing it, I suppose. All of the parts on this were fun to play, especially the guitar solos. I probably spent half an hour jamming to the riff before I recorded anything. And my arm was ready to fall off after the bass part. Good times. Smile

Lyrics:

VERSE
Racing towards a heart attack
Reaching the edge then pulling back
Knocking down the dominoes
Trying on the emperor's new clothes

PRECHORUS
Anything can stop me
I am on my feet again
Measuring the distance
Between why and when

VERSE
Shutting things down for everyone
Counting the hours til the day is done
Raising the bridges over the river
Waiting until I am the forgiver

PRECHORUS
Energy erupts across
A silent crowd
Everything escapes me
I am not allowed

CHORUS
Come to me
And I will be Found
Come to me
And I will be Found

VERSE
Racing towards a heart attack
Bleeding edge and feeding back
The road narrows and grows wider
Show me your need, I will show you your provider

PRECHORUS
Empty chairs surround
A fire that's burning down
Heat leaving a memory
drifts without a sound

CHORUS
Come to me
And I will be Found
Come to me
And I will be Found

The energy is really fun in this and I love the line "racing towards a heart attack." I know we aren't supposed to talk about the demo, but I might suggest bringing up the vocals in the mix. It might just be my computer's speakers but I could barely hear you, and that's a shame.

Oh, and you did that drumming live? The drumming is super tight, especially if you're dealing with pre-made everything else. Color me incredibly impressed.

great energy, i love how you've thrown everything at this. the slow up is interesting - i mean interesting not a euphemism trying to sound kind but critical , it is unusual to have that sort of stretchiness. i love the liveness of this, well done for putting all that work in - now go and have an epsom salt bath!

Ummmm... Glad I relistened after your comment... The slow up you mentioned was the file rendering improperly. Perils of an old computer and too many tracks. Wink

A rocking good time, this sounds terrific and gets my blood going. And the chorus is catchy and dramatic and intense(ly listenable) as heck; I too have been trying (and largely failing) to cut down on words in my choruses to hit that ear-worm sweet spot, and you absolutely nailed it.

Wow! Ambitious full-band creation, and it absolutely rocks! The drums create tremendous urgency - good job with them. Everything just clicks here - every sound is purposeful and contributes to the whole. You do a whole lot of things darn near expertly here.

This ROCKS. I'm head-banging along with you here. Love the changes in pace, love all the instrumentals. Super impressive work!

Yeah, that prechorus melody is killer, very good. I'm super impressed with the drumming. Solos are cool, bass is cool... arm not falling completely off is a good thing, too. I can see why you starred this one as it's a good one to lean back and jam out to.

Wow. The guitar solo was awesome. I'm an acoustic type so this level of electric and production amazing me. I enjoyed my listen a lot! There's that guitar solo again! Nice work here!
