Liner Notes:

As part of the "fake it" challenge, the seed is a song where the lyric and the chords are written out, but nothing else. SO without listening to anyone else's version, the challenge participants take the song and make it their own. Vibe, melody, etc

These were lyrics that connected with my former young, angsty, self so I channeled all my emo youth, slapped on some dark eyeliner and busted out my electric guitar with a sustain, delay, and flanger and recorded the vocals with heavy ambient echo and reverb. I even threw in some operatic vocals for fun. My old bandmate who used to create an electric guitar sound wall for me to sing against would be so proud.

Thanks to @metalfoot for providing the seed song. The challenge is here if you would like to participate it. http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/content/fake-it-challenge-live

My Heart’s Gone Too
Lyrics/Chords by Alex Klages Fake It Challenge – 50/90 2019 (as provided)
Em Am
walking alone on the sand
Em Am
wishing you still held my hand
Em Am
shouting out into the ocean's breeze
C B7
no reply but the rustling trees
Em Am
crying alone in the park
Em Am
as the skies grow ever dark
Em Am
wandering off into the evening's fade
C B7
no reply among the deep shade
E Am
where have you gone?
EAm
where have I gone?
EAmD
when you left you took me with you
EAm
where have you gone?
EAm
where have I gone?
E Am D
now I don't know what I should do
DC
because you're gone
C Em
and my heart's gone too
Em Am
standing alone in the crowd
Em Am
feeling like it's all too loud
Em Am
trying now to hide away somewhere
C B7
no reply and nobody cares
E Am
where have you gone?
E Am
where have I gone?
E Am D
when you left you took me with you
E Am
where have you gone?
E Am
where have I gone?
E Am D
now I don't know what I should do
D C
because you're gone
C Em
and my heart's gone too
AEm
gone and washed away
AEm
gone and never coming back
ACB7
gone with the changing tides
AEm
will I ever heal?
A Em
will I ever feel again?
ACB7
will this ache die inside?
Em Am
walking alone
Em Am
crying alone
Em Am
standing alone
Em
alone

This is very very very good! Vocal delivery is powerful and emotional and spot-on. Good use of echo effects. Love the way the song builds. Very nicely done!

so dark, when the drums kick in ... so good. Those vocals are fantastic... as is the wall of guitar propping up the entire song. Great job,

Hey, thanks for playing my goofy game... sounds like you had fun making this! I love what you've done with the guitar treatments here...

So EMO. Awesome.

Just love the bass guitar and you have a great voice: my favorite part is where you falsetto floats on top of the bass. The transition at the end with drums was also a moment.

Oooh, this is super neat. The dark, indeed emo, feel with the loud guitar and your excellent dramatic vocals. The panning on the vocals make it great, as well as extra little details in the mix. The really high singing 2:30 or so is fantastic it's like "whoa where did that come from". Very cool track, nice!

What can I even say about this...
All I could do was stand here and do the shoegaze sway lol
Seriously, though - this is primetime ready.
From the structure, the grungy electric, the vocals and their effects, the atmosphere of it...digging it all.
A lot of artists come to mind, unfortunately I can't think of any of their names lol
Your voice over this grungy vibe though, it creates a very cool sound and the panning sounds great in my headphones.
Top track

All encompassing. The operatic vocals are so haunting.
