Lyrics:

Who do you turn to?
How do you know?
When you cant get any closer
and you dont know where to go
and you find yourself
On Hearbreak Avenue
Who do you turn to?
What do you do?

Where are you going?
Who is that by your side?
Are you looking for action
Or a place to hide?
If youre looking for me
Ill be looking for you
On the sidestreets
Right off Hearbreak Avenue

Baby baby baby
It isnt right
For you to be with him tonight
Close your eyes. He will be gone.
We can help each other
Get off this road were on.

Who do you turn to?
How do you know?
When you cant get any closer
and you dont know where to go
and you find yourself
On Hearbreak Avenue
Who do you turn to?
What do you do?

I grab my "Josephine", or "Kimbo" Smile

-- Like the modulation melody, sung over in it's own as well.

that is a POWER ballad. Excellent one Bill. I think Michael is on to it - its more Springteen than ive ever heard you - but its still Bill.

Sung with such gusto! Good concept - consoling one another's heartbreak

You combine the spirit of rock n roll with the poetic austerity of Leonard Cohen, mate.
I've listened to two of your songs here and I've been knocked out by 'em.

Wow! You're really putting a lot of emotion into this one. Looking forward to our "friendly competition"--you tend to inspire me to try different things. I really like this one, my friend. Nice performance!

Ahhh... you are so present in this song in a sexy and sensitive kind of way - the combination of unplugged intimate music delivery with the lyrics is perfect!

Love that rickety guitar sound. Combined with that vocal melody and passionate singing, it's a winner. Reminds me a bit of 60s pop (always a good thing!).

Amazing ballad Bill with rock flavour and passion. Very powerful song.

That middle eight is fantastic!

Great song that has a classic Springsteen feel to it.

Great stuff.

Timeless power ballad feel. Your voice is such a powerful instrument. Cool chime to the guitar.
This is a really good late afternoon happy hour song. Which is how I'm treating it.
