Lyrics:
Don't Little Rock My World
© 2019 Cindy Prince
She was snobby
But I liked her
She was born with a silver spoon
Her Daddy was rich
She was my world
Didn't know what she would do
I bought a ring
All I could afford
Took her out to a fancy place
She took one look
Acted kind of bored
Felt like she'd slapped my face
Chorus
She said
I don't like little rocks
It has to be a karat and a half
She tossed it across the table
Then that rich bitch
laughed and laughed
Bridge
I politely excused myself
Acted cool as I could be
Calmly told our server
She would pay the check for me
I later found
A sweeter lady
All she wanted was simple things
She was thrilled
Didn't shame me
We were wed with cheap gold rings
Because
She said
I don't like little rocks
It has to be a karat and a half
She tossed it across the table
Then that rich bitch
laughed and laughed

Hah, you fooled me. When I saw the title I thought it was about Arkansas.
Cute story. Hope your back feels better.
Ha! That'll teach her! Great job with this! Hope your back feels better!
I confess, I too was all set for an Arkansas theme. It was fun waiting for the title to reveal itself as it slowly materialized. And I like the way the story turns out, in the end because real love is its own diamond, and cheap gold rings are enough. He dodged a bullet!
Thanks all. Just some fun. I am getting a shot in my spine tomorrow that should help
Clever switch on the prompt. Nice skirmish.
Clever and interesting lyrics Cindy. Hope you feel better soon.
nicely done- 'little rock' indeed!!! fun stuff and great work
sounds like someone I once knew
Great take on the rock! I wasn't expecting that at all.
When I first saw the title I thought it was going to be about Little Rock, Arkansas!
Then got stuck in to your lyrics... You have such a wonderful imagination and can seemingly put yourself in any character's shoes. Well done.
