Liner Notes:

Not sure what I dreamed but awoke with the first verse and chorus in my head

Open to collaboration and happy to let you run with it

Lyrics:

Train of Love

V1
sitting in silence
watching life away
through foggy windows
everything looks gray

going through valleys
across rugged terrain
chugging up hills
on a southbound train

C
they rode for miles and miles
with nothing left to say

and now their train of love
has gone and pulled away

It’s down the track so far
it won’t come back their way

as that train...train of love...
had no platform to stay

it’s a run run run...
a run away love train

V2
left at the station
in a run down town
with ghosts everywhere
skeletons all around

suitcases still packed
with faded memories
but tickets are all gone
for this eternity

C
they rode for miles and miles
with nothing left to say

and now their train of love
has gone and pulled away

It’s down the track so far
it won’t come back their way

as that train...train of love...
had no platform to stay

it’s a run run run...
a run away love train

B
sometimes a train will jump the track
sometimes it can’t turn to go back
sometimes a train is a broken machine
sometimes it just runs out of steam

C
they rode for miles and miles
with nothing left to say

and now their train of love
has gone and pulled away

It’s down the track so far
it won’t come back their way

as that train...train of love...
had no platform to stay

it’s a run run run...
a run away love train

I love trains in a song and the way you used the train here is so creative. Please let me know if you get music for it!

a fine train of love song, one of my favorite sub genres. so many different ways the music could run with this one,,the lyrics fly past like vacation scenery,

Like the way this love train is a little bit rickety, and travels through ghost towns, and has foggy windows, and is running away, rather than being traveled on. Does flow along beautifully, as other have said. I'd be interested to hear a demo.

You can't go wrong with a title like that. A runaway love train? Get me a ticket!
Bloody 'ell those lovers were going up and down that track like nobody's business.

this is a very clever write
you get the imagery right away

I love the way you use the platform
as a way of saying, love had nowhere to stay

a well constructed lyric strong
loved it a run away love train
great story well told

I love a train song. Sad (in that good bittersweet way that certain songs can make me feel) , sharply vivid and evocative.
You've made me think of a really interesting train memory I have from almost 40 years ago. I just might try to write about it.

"It's a run run run... a run away love train." What a great line and what a great song!
