Liner Notes:

This song was written for @Donna Devine's skirmish prompt: Desert - rain - stars

Donna, I'm sorry I did this to your lovely prompt.

Anyway, I started late and then ran over (this ended up taking about 90 minutes, somewhat inexplicably). It still needs more work, but the core is strong.

Lyrics:

Back to Nature (Desert, Rain, Stars)
(c) 2019 Odilon Green

VERSE 1

The world that we live in
Is so sterile and cold
It’s time that we get back
To the way things were of old

I’m tired of sparkling tile
Porcelain and soft TP
When I want to use the bathroom
What I need is to live free

CHORUS

I want to poop out in the desert
Want to poop out in the rain
Want to poop under the stars
Poop out in the open plain

I want to poop as part of nature
Feel the touch of gentle breeze
Know I’m connected to the world
With every push and every squeeze

VERSE 2

As you sit upon your throne
Reading your phone or magazine
Think of everything you’re missing
When you follow this routine

People long to breathe fresh air
And eat food grown organically
So why then act so haughty
‘Bout where you poop and where you pee

CHORUS 2

I want to poop out in the desert
Want to poop out in the rain
Want to poop under the stars
Poop in the open plain

I want to poop outside of walls
‘Cause it’s what we’re made to do
So push back against the naysayers
You know that you want to

BRIDGE

Poop outside
Show your pride
Do not hide
Go poop outside

Poop on the wild side
Show that you still have pride
Don’t ever try to hide
Go and poop in the outside

CHORUS 1

Please keep your comments respectful, honest, and constructive. Please focus on the song and not the demo.

Take a poop on the wild side! This is hilarious, especially when it mixes poopin with romantic images and idealistic thoughts. It definitively has a solid core and good themes. Smile

You got my first actual LOL of 50/90. That was unexpected, given the prompt...but true to form sir! Poop on the wild side, wahaha.

But please, let's watch out for chiggers. LMAO, it's brilliant and somewhat uncomfortable.

Listened to your 4th song first. I'm sensing a theme to your 50.90 this year.
I live in the desert. I just might give this a go. I'll report back with my findings.
Smile

Yep. Definitely a theme. Matt would be flattered I think! Scatology aside the word is inherently funny.

Dude I love you Smile This made me smile and my dogs looked at me as if "Mom he made a point here come on"

I like the solo acoustic approach ... adds poignancy to the lyrics, even if they are about poop! Love the ending "... with every push and every squeeze." But "Poop on the wild side" is the winning line here!

Haha - first one I’ve heard of yours this 5090. So unexpected! Biggrin lol to the running poop theme. Clever as fudge word smithery!

You know, sometimes it's like that.

You really went out there with this. You sing with confidence, lyrics are well phrased and there are some pretty hitting rhymes. Poop outside, show your pride. Kind of fantastic. This is motivational.

I applaud you for writing songs like this. I clearly remember you did 'Poopring through time', sometimes, out of nowhere, it even pops up in my head ('Pooping through history'). You put things in perspective and make fun songs which is a great quality actually. 'Poop on the wild side' is a great line indeed.

There is nothing crappy about this song. There is no age limit to the hilarity of a potty joke. Well done.

Would make a great naturists theme Wink As always, a wonderfully fun song Smile

Brilliant! And I like the wacky coffeehouse feel of your guitar/vocal treatment.
And now I want to go spend more time in nature ...

I agree completely! Take a poop on the wild side!
