Skirmish Table

Lyrics:

Around the Table

V1 I look around the table
I count the empty chairs
I remember another time
When every one was there

V2 I raise my glass to them more often
And take more time to reflect
To look on those lives well lived
To show them my respect

PC I feel like I’m the last man standing
They have all gone before
So its left for me to tell their stories
And place them into lore

C Each day is like a perfect circle
Always returning to the same place
We are just a moment
In this time and space

V3 We lived our lives different ways
But we always understood
No matter where we were
If needed, They’d be there if they could

V4 so again i raise my glass
To absent family and friends
Ill continue to keep you alive
Until my days end

PC I am the last man standing
They have all gone before
So its left for me to tell their stories
And place them into lore

C Each day is like a perfect circle
Always returning to the same place
We are just a moment
In this time and space.

Deep philosophy lyric on sweet sounding keyboards. Well done on the skirmish!

I really like the melody here and the lyrics are deeply thoughtful.

A poignant tale. A really good write done with your trademark smooth production. Fine job.

Bittersweet and so beautifully written and delivered. Love that prechorus and chorus. Really brilliant insight and poetic philosophical thought!

The vibe of the production and the vocals are bittersweet. Great job capturing this sense of loneliness

Sorry I missed your table song until now!
What a charming, poignant song! I've lost a brother in law and a grandmother this summer, and I'm thinking of them as I listen. Your personal and comforting voice is made for a song like this.

Love the Dylan-ish organ. Such a nice, reflective tune. "We are just a moment in this time and space" ... lovely.
