Liner Notes:

Well... John! You are some kind of warlock out there. I just started this song called "There's a Storm Comin" after looking out the window and seeing storm clouds approaching. I had already written my observations and of course turned it into my usual melancholy metaphor! Your prompts always inspire a flood (no pun intended) of ideas.

Lyrics:

There's a Storm Comin-(c)2019-Sonya Heller Music-ASCAP

There’s a storm comin’
There’s a storm comin
When my bones start achin’
And my heart is breakin’
There’s a storm coming
It’s a lone road
On a star less night
And no place that feels like home
There’s a wind comin’
Bringin’ on the rain
And shelter cannot be found
It’s a hard line
When I’m squirmin’ in my skin’
When I cannot feel the sun
On a sunny day
When I’m lookin’ in the mirror
And there’s no one to be found
Like a faded old ghost
From a tumbleweed town
There’s Storm comin
Storm comin’
and there's no place that feels like
like home

I like the image of "a faded old ghost
From a tumbleweed town". I also like the moving chords under "and no place that feels like home". Great job painting a melancholy picture. Very good write.

I love how this one just flows straight through from start to finish. It isn’t so much verse and chorus as one idea that naturally expresses itself in a beautiful flow. Instantly comfortable, and rich listening! Glad to see you here!

This is beautiful Sonya Smile Your vocal really winds it's way around the melody and lyric, bringing them together as a good song should Smile

Lovely, really natural recording of a very good song.

A lot of the lines resonated with me. Physical and spiritual pain. A starless night and no place feels like home. Looking in the mirror to find a ghost, couple with the tumbleweeds (tumbleweed town). Very cool.

Really terrific descriptions in this: When I’m lookin’ in the mirror/And there’s no one to be found/Like a faded old ghost/From a tumbleweed town. I like how the music builds with the anticipation of the storm coming at the beginning and your vocal opens up. The ending too really delivers the emotion. Well done!

Lovely vocals, at times reminding me a bit of Phoebe Snow. Some really great lines in there, too. I like it a whole lot!
