Liner Notes:

I came up with the chord progression about a month ago or so while watching a documentary about John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Did I steal it or was I just inspired? Or just a coincidence? Don't know. In any case, for 50/90, I found some old unfinished lyrics that seemed like they would fit, so I wrote a couple of more verses, and voila!

Lyrics:

I once said that my love will never die
But 10 years on I find
That my love has gone to hide
That my love has gone to hide

In my head, it seems to me I tried
to make it work but I realize
that our love was built on lies
That our love was built on lies

(break)

When I look back, all I can see
Are years of doubt and deceit
And all the lies that I believed
And all the lies that I believed

I guess I just don't understand your need
to sabotage what we could be
To throw away your life with me
To throw away your life with me

CHORUS:
I know we had some good times
I know that time wasn't lost
I know one day that I'll find
That the good outweighs the cost

(break)

I know it's time that I move on
From dwelling on the past and what went wrong
To say goodbye to what is gone
To say goodbye to what is gone

Despite all the pain, I still am fond
Of when we used to get along
Of the times that our love seemed strong
Of the times that our love seemed strong

(chorus)
(break)
(chorus/outro)

I'm digging how this moves along. I can hear Lennon's influence, too. Just curious - did you do multiple takes for your vocals? They sound great.

Yes, hints of Lennon but also just that classic ballyhoot sound Smile Nice opener for your 50/90!

It is a nice progression. The amateur's borrow; the greats steal! LOL But chord progressions can't be copywritten. This ROCKS!!!
