Demo:

50 90 48 Pianoman Kim Larsen oct 1945 – sept 2018

Liner Notes:

Its kinda late and I didn't want to wake up my flatmates. Also its quite windy outside. And I got moved by the lyrics I wrote. Struck a nerve somewhere.

Title explanation
Kim Larsen made the song Pianoman about a friend who passed away. In the lyrics he's wondering how its like in the land of the dead.

A song for every key?
Kim Larsen published more than 500 songs.

The song is also about my dads suicide in 1984. It's not quite accurate. I think he whistled some Elvis tunes. But he never wrote any songs himself that I know of.

Lyrics:

I NEVER MET YOU
BUT I KNOW WHO YOU ARE
YOU ARE THE ONE
WHO TAUGTH ME TO PLAY GUITAR
I NEVER SHOOK YOUR HAND
WE NEVER CALLED OUT A TOAST

BUT YOU ARE ONE OF THE THE ONES RIGHT NOW
THAT I MISS THE MOST

I REMEMBER MY DAD SINGING YOUR TUNES
FOR EVERY SONG HE PICKED I COULD TELL HIS MOOD
LIKE EVERY KEY ON THE PIANO REPRESENTED ONE OF YOUR SONGS
YOU HAD A VOICE, NOW IT’S GONE

ONE DAY MY DAD TOOK THE TICKET TO THE SKY
ALL LEFT ALONE WE NEVER KNEW THE REASON WHY
MAYBE THE SADDEST SONGS CARRY THE TRUTH
AND I’M STILL LISTENING, HOW ABOUT YOU

I NEVER MET YOU
BUT I KNOW WHO YOU ARE
YOU ARE THE ONE
WHO TAUGTH ME TO PLAY GUITAR
I NEVER SHOOK YOUR HAND
WE NEVER CALLED OUT A TOAST

BUT YOU ARE ONE OF THE THE ONES RIGHT NOW
THAT I MISS THE MOST

….. EXTRA VERSE IDEAS
WHATS TO BECOME OF US WHEN WERE’RE GONE
WHAT’S LEFT OF US BUT DUST AND BONES
THE WOMAN CRIED AT THE FUNERAL

Please keep your comments respectful, honest, and constructive. Please focus on the song and not the demo.
