Liner Notes:

Got here late, but took about 25 minutes start to finish.

Lyrics:

Buddy can you spare some change?
I need something to eat
Buddy can you spare some change?
I need a warm place to sleep

I wasn't always on the street
I used to work six days a week
But then I lost my job
And the hits would never stop
And sometimes I can barely breathe

Buddy can you spare some change?
I won't lie I need a drink
Buddy, can you spare some change?
It's so cold I can barely think

I wasn't always on the street
I used to work six days a week
But then I lost my job
And the hits would never stop
And sometimes I can barely breathe

Buddy, can you spare some change?

I love the way you used this prompt! an all to familiar story these days! top class for under half an hour! this is what skirmishing it all about - this is a little gem

Great minds think alike! We both went with the street person begging for spare change. You did a very good job on this.

Thank you for taking part in the prompt. I was wondering if anyone would take the idea of change as a spare change and there are two songs on this subject, each is very nice to listen to and sad. Beautiful take and delivery. Very poignant.

Two good takes, this song and the one by @jwhanberry . Both are sympathetic to the street character. Really nice song and rendition. You got to the heart of the story so quickly.

There's something about these particular chords and this subject, this narrator, that sets up a compassionate feeling right from the start for me. It breaks with the stereotype. I think it's the lost humanity restored in musical form. I really appreciated the line where he admits to, yes, actually needing a drink, because who wouldn't in that situation? This is a really warm and loving look.

This is powerful and well done- the chords remind me of something or other by Neil Young, but that doesn't really matter- its a fine song and ...

(well, I would have said....of course this song explains why we need a strong safety net from the government, and why trickle-down economics does not work,.... but I'm just saying that to get a little rise outta ya Smile )

seriously, tho, great song, nicely done!

I just did this challenge and went way more abstract..

I like how you own this character with grace and compassion. Important humanizing perspective and beautiful music.
