Liner Notes:

With all the things swirling in the news about the #me too movement, the verdict and prison time for Bill Cosby, the controversy over the supreme court nomination, etc., I thought I needed to write an 'ally of the me too movement' kind of song.

I took out my mandolin, and capo'd it up two frets (in a possibly doomed journey to find a key I could sing this in, you hear I'm still slipping around various octaves) and did a live recording of mandolin and vocal. My mandolin chops are slightly rusty, but it gets it across...

curious what folks think of this one, I'm kind of happy with it...

edit- added shaker and harmonica...

Lyrics:

‘Who you gonna believe” you say, “me or your own eyes?
“why don’t you just leave” I say, enough with all your lies

There’s gonna be a day of reckoning, won’t you join us to make it happen
share your story and together we’ll make it happen

You say ‘boys will be boys’ I say “not anymore”
This is a new era, and you’re a dinosaur

There’s gonna be a day of reckoning, won’t you join us to make it happen
There’s gonna be a day of reckoning, won’t you join us to make it happen

it’s happening in the courtrooms, and voting booths
you can’t rely on suppressing the truth
hiding behind your gin and vermouth

There’s gonna be a day of reckoning, won’t you join us to make it happen
don’t hold back, join together and together we’ll make it happen

Something Dylan about it! Really nice Mando

I know what you're talking about with the #metoo stuff. Interesting times we're living. Some things stay buried and with others people are just really apathetic. But this sexual harassment stuff is something that needs to be gotten rid of. Dig it all up!

Good job. Got a nice protest tone to it.

Thank you - #believesurvivors - I wrote 'The Blame' about this too. I am one of them - Love the dinosaur reference - great song. Thanks for writing it

I am a survivor too. This is so needed and so past time. Good work!

A true protest song. We will indeed see what happens. You may be dating yourself with the reference to gin and vermouth. Does anyone still drink Martinis?

I like the more general take on the #metoo movement. You're specific enough to appeal to my sense of involvement, but general enough to apply this to just about any situation. I like that you're pretty inclusive in this one. And I like that mando playing. I thought your vocal range was pretty decent throughout.
